Hi, I know that with the apple AirPort Extreme I can have a guess network. Is
that save enough though? I mean can I get a virus if they get into something
they are not suppose too? I always worry about that. Maybe they are dumb
questions but I guess it don’t hurt to ask since I know there lots of you
that know more than me!! :)

Would I be better off with a VPN or just create a guessnetwork?

Hello,

Mark your probably right, since all this is very confusing to me. The only
reason I am trying to run a VPN is because on weekends there is always
family using my wifi and I will feel better if I am secured. I do not know
anyone that can help me with this so will probably have to pay someone.
Although, I am more inclined into buying a Mesh router and like you said have

Hello, need some advice on buying a router. I currently have an AirPort Extreme
and a apple airport express to bridge my connection. My problem is trying to
run a VPN , in which I think I can not run it with a apple router. Most of the
times I am running about 12 wireless connections. But during the weekend its
more like 20 wireless connections because of family visiting! :) Anyways, so i
want something with a strong connection and be able to connect to a property
that is 60 by 170 square feet. so, what type of router should I get? I hear
that the mesh routers are good or I have also read I would be able to keep the
ones i currently have IfI bought a dual/ flash router? Any advice would be
very helpful. Hopefully, it can be one that is not so complicated. ONe reason
I really liked the apple routers because of their simplicity.

Re: Problems with Airserver

Hi Al,

Yes, I can't seem to find the problem either. Even after messing with
Air Server's preferences. i have heard of Air Foil for the mac but its only

my iMac connected to my entertainment center where my nice speakers are. I
want to be able to funnel all my sound there, but that isn't happening as of
right now for whatever reason ...

Maria, you can also get a free file extractor called the unarchiver.
Download and install it, then when you download a bookshare Daity title, you
open the unarchiver, put in your bookshare password, and it extracts the

Does this work with the apple wireless keyboard because i just tried the
function key and arrows and don't work for me.

Re: Handbreak and backing up a Disney Movie

2010-12-10 Thread patricia solis
I don't get a error message the movie does get backed up . My problem is when
playing it. It doesn't play in the right order. It starts like in other parts
of the movie and not the beginning. I have tried several times and the results
are the same.

Re: Handbreak and backing up a Disney Movie

I can't say how it is to burn the DVD, Up, but I've noticed that some Disney

Disney has a funny way of dealing with burning dvd's to the computer.
When using handbreak, you can choose between a bunch of different titles to
have as the source. Disney basically makes a bunch of dummy files that look
like they might be the actual movie, but are just jumbled files. What you'll
want to do is find out the title by playing the dvd in the default DVD
player. When the movie is playing, go to the go menu and scroll down to the
title sub menu. the correct title to use in handbreak will be checked. If
you select the wrong title, the dvd will import out of order.

 Hope that helps some,
 Justin

Re: Headless Mac Minis [Was: Re: iMac VS Mac Mini]

2010-11-05 Thread patricia solis
Hello,
I have a macmini3,1 and when first setting it up. I did need a monitor.
Although, sometimes i do have it off the monitor and it still works for me.
What i'm having issues with is hooking it up to my 50 inch plazma tv. Call me
crazy or whatever you want but i had it set up with the older mac mini 2007 and
it worked. With the recent macmini3,1. Just haven't been able to. Not sure if
i have the right connection or what.
On Nov 5, 2010, at 9:16 AM, Bryan Jones wrote:

I thought the issue where a Mac Mini required a monitor in order to function
properly only applied to the 2009 Mac Minis, aka Macmini3,1.
I recently purchased a mid-2010 Mac Mini aka Macmini4,1 and have no
problems running it headless. I also have an older 2007-2008 Mini, aka
Macmini2,1 and it runs headless without issue.
Are other folks here getting different results?
