Re: Accessible microwaves

2020-11-09 Thread 'Kawal Gucukoglu' via MacVisionaries
I am sticking to my Microwave Combie for the time being as it has a proper oven
in it. It’s sold by Colbolt systems here in the UK and it talks. May be the
prices of these will come down if Amazon’s Microwave sells more to the visually
impaired community.

I've heard of microwaves with Amazon Alexa support, but nothing that
support for working with Apple devices. However, my knowledge of Apple
HomeKit is absolutely minimal. There might be something with an
accessible iOS app.

Hi Phil,
The Amazon Basics microwave is a good option if you are okay with a small
microwave. It works with Amazon’s Alexa, so it can be controlled by voice.
Here’s some info:

Hi Phil,

Hi Janet, very nice job on this article. I’ve looked at the Amazon basics
microwave and I think I’m going to pick it up along with the Alexa dot. Did you
know that there is also a braille keypad overlay for this microwave? A search
on Amazon for braille keypad overlay Amazon basics microwave will bring it up.
Also, there is a good article on retro style microwaves with mechanical buttons
and Dials titled best microwaves for seniors at a site called
SaferSeniorCare.com.
