I don't know about this on the iPhone, but since we're talking about an
Android, yes, you can do VPN on a Droid. I think total Commander has an
extension for that and ES File Explorer might have one as well.

The main reason for VPN is to get the secure connection to the correct network.

I can do it with home as well but the VPN isn't working as yet,

How do i transfer files from the mac to android via the file transfer app?
Copy and paste does not work and dragging and dropping is the only way to
move files.

But the drag and drop thing does not work properly for me.
When i am on the file i want to drag I press vo , and then command tab to
file transfer for android.
Here is a table and i have went down to the specific folder i want the file
to be stored to.

I have opened it with command down arrow.
Now i press vo and the period sign then i see a dialog with the file and
after a while i hear that the dragging and dropping was unsuccessful.

Why must it be so difficult to have another operating system than the mac?

Hi Andrers

I might have missed this but what about a memory card?

Don't the moto G take micro SD memory cards for storage?
Can't you just copy to that then put the chip back in the phone and listen?

Or am I mistaken about the phone having Micro SD storage?

Hi!
Well mostly music is what i want to copy since my bloody Moto G 5 doesn’t love
to login to apple music for some odd reason.
SO now my apple account has been locked and i have unlocked it but it will take
a couple of days as i was unlocking it with my phone number and not one of my
other devices.
Stupid me but that’s how it is.
So music is the things i would like to copy to it so i can have something to
listen to when on the train or in a taxi.

would make it a little more easy on the geeks in here . if we are
talking ebooks, music, messages can be used, is it program files, im

RE: File transfer for mac and Voiceover.

2017-04-16 Thread Simon Fogarty
HI Anders,

 Apologies for th edelay,

One thing I use which only works for work currently is
VPN connection to the network I'm accessing and then mapped or shared drives
between my notebook and the machine at work.

Ok this is within windows but I'm pretty sure you can do the same thing with
the mac os.

The main reason for VPN is to get the secure connection to the correct network.

I can do it with home as well but the VPN isn't working as yet,

Ok, now my usb problem is solved and i now have got another problem.
How do i transfer files from the mac to android via the file transfer
 app?
Copy and paste does not work and dragging and dropping is the only
 way to move files.
But the drag and drop thing does not work properly for me.
When i am on the file i want to drag I press vo , and then command
tab to file transfer for android.
Here is a table and i have went down to the specific folder i want
the file to be stored to.
I have opened it with command down arrow.
Now i press vo and the period sign then i see a dialog with the file
and after a while i hear that the dragging and dropping was
 unsuccessful.
Why must it be so difficult to have another operating system than the
 mac?

Is this just for file transfers between your devices?

I wouldn't use FTP for that but it's really up to the individual.

2017-04-14 Thread CHUCK REICHEL
Hi Tim,
Yes keyboard commander for sure!
I use the "slash key for mouse down" and the "Star key" on the num pad for
mouse up.
I use this all the time in avid's pro tools for moving tracks around and
copying inserts from track to track.
for me since the slash is to the left of the star key It reminds me of being
the first thing to do which is to "mouse down" on the thing to be moved then I
navigate with the "VO hot spots" to where I drop the track with the "star key"
which is physically next to the slash key.
Keeps things in perspective for me, like signal flow in the audio field! :)

2017-04-14 Thread Erik Burggraaf

Hi Anders,

The android file transfer for mac is deficient as you saw. I also tried an
android app called droidnas. This is a very cool idea. You can get it
from the play store. I didn't get it to work but could be they have
improved it or something about your devices will click.

Sharing a folder via ftp from your mac is a fabulous idea. Turbo ftp from
the play store is accessible and you can do the transfers quickly over wifi.

I think ES file explorer now has a network transfer option so you could
look at that.

Finally there is tonido personal cloud and it's companion android app which
also should work but provide you more flexible options such as secure
streaming of media.

I lost interest in this topic when my mac went off to the great electronics
recycler in the sky, but I did try to start a discussion on inclusive
android when it was something I needed hard core and couldn't get. You
could try renewing that topic and see if any one else has ideas.

Hope this helps,

Erik

2017-04-14 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi Scot,

You could always set up your own easier key combination for the mouse down and
mouse up actions in the Keyboard commander. I think I used the letter d for
mouse down and shift-d for the up. Yeah, I understand, our old brains can't
always fathom these multi-key commands, especially when they expect t"Twister"
style finger movement ;).

Ok, now my usb problem is solved and i now have got another problem.
How do i transfer files from the mac to android via the file transfer app?
Copy and paste does not work and dragging and dropping is the only way to
 move files.
But the drag and drop thing does not work properly for me.
When i am on the file i want to drag I press vo , and then command tab to
 file transfer for android.
Here is a table and i have went down to the specific folder i want the
 file to be stored to.
I have opened it with command down arrow.
Now i press vo and the period sign then i see a dialog with the file and
after a while i hear that the dragging and dropping was unsuccessful.
Why must it be so difficult to have another operating system than the mac?

Re: File transfer for mac and Voiceover.

2017-04-13 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi,

The VO-comma and VO-period Drag & Drop process does not work well, or even at
all when attempting this action between windows. It usually only works for
within one window. I've been successful with the old Drag & Drop method
whereby you press VO-cmd-shift-space to invoke mouse down action, then use the
Window Chooser VO-f2-f2 to switch windows, then VO-cmd-shift-space to invoke
the mouse up action, thus dropping the item. Often you need to make sure that
the mouse cursor is in the proper location by pressing VO-cmd-f5 prior to the
mouse down and mouse up actions. It is not successful in all situations, but
is more likely to work for you in the sort of situation you're working with.
Occasionally, you made need to turn off cursor tracking with VO-shift-f3 as
well. Remember to turn it back on though after you're done, otherwise, you'll
have other frustrations.

Later...

If VO is doing what it seems to be doing and simulating an actual drag and
drop, then both locations would have to be visually accessible for the
operation to complete. My suspicion would be that the windows are overlapping
and thus the source and destination are not visible at the same time.

File transfer for mac and Voiceover.

2017-04-13 Thread Anders Holmberg
Hi!
Ok, now my usb problem is solved and i now have got another problem.
How do i transfer files from the mac to android via the file transfer app?
Copy and paste does not work and dragging and dropping is the only way to move
files.
But the drag and drop thing does not work properly for me.
When i am on the file i want to drag I press vo , and then command tab to file
transfer for android.
Here is a table and i have went down to the specific folder i want the file to
be stored to.
I have opened it with command down arrow.
Now i press vo and the period sign then i see a dialog with the file and after
a while i hear that the dragging and dropping was unsuccessful.
Why must it be so difficult to have another operating system than the mac?
/A
