Re: GoPro and other camera app

2016-03-10 Thread Scott Granados
Image stabilization is an issue. On my drones they have auto stabilization
features in the camera itself and in the gimbal. The only mounts I can think
of that I have experience with cost 5 or 6 figures and carry very large cameras
but are so good you could use them on horse back and still have a stable image.

Built in stabilization will do some good but for walking or mounting on a
harness you still will get jiggle with out exotic gear unless someone else has
some good ideas. I’m definitely open to a low cost solution or have others had
good luck with the built in stabilization features?

2016-03-09 Thread Jenine Stanley
Scott, the thing I’m concerned about is image stabilization. I know the iPhone
6S is supposed to have more of that when shooting videos but given the walking
kinds of videos I’m planning, there isn’t a good mount for the phone.

Re: GoPro and other camera app

2016-03-09 Thread Caitlyn Furness
thanks.

I’ll be doing demos of dog care, training, etc. Of course I’d like them to
look as good as possible. doing all this as a total will be interesting, to
say the least, so any suggestions of apps, etc, besides the camera, would be
helpful!

Hi, very good question. It depends on what you’re doing. If you’re just doing
the odd shot of family to share then the phone is fine. The iPhone has a very
very good camera built in, it’s actually a Sony censor if memory serves.

If you want to do heavy duty recording then a GoPro or similar is the way to
go. You have many more mounts and housings as well as lenses and all sorts of
photographic options the phone doesn’t have. So it just depends on your use
case.

Sweet Scott. the listed price was about $100 more than that for the Session.
The Sony was priced at $145 on the CNET review site.

Re: GoPro and other camera app

2016-03-09 Thread Scott Granados
George, All I mentioned was that they are very easy to use. You insert a card
and press the button on the side of the front like a regular camera. It beeps
which means the video starts, beeps again means it stops.

You can then remove the card and edit as you wish or you can use the
application to download the content. Myself I’m removing the cards but that’s
me.

How’s that?

Oh the other thing, Best Buy has a great GoPRo section. Go there and grab
ahold of them if you want an idea what the form factor is like and the
accessories etc.

Either camera should do well. Sony makes the censors for most cameras

GoPro and other camera app

2016-03-09 Thread Jenine Stanley
I’m looking to buy a GoPro or similar camera for recording motion, walks, etc.
I’ve narrowed my selection down to the GoPro 4 Select and the Sony Mini.

Does anyone know how accessible the phone apps to control these cameras are?
I’m leaning toward the Sony for price but don’t want to buy it and find out the
phone app is useless. Minor access things I can handle.

Thanks.
