Hi Simon.

 

Thanks for your advice.  I don’t feel like an adapter in a spare pocket will 
work for me.  I will phone the Apple store and ask about Bluetooth.

lightning port doubles as headphone connecter. You will need an adapter

There's a lightning to headphone adapter available. Otherwise, you'll 
need to use Bluetooth.
