2010-06-12 Thread Pete Nalda
Thank you so much! that's exactly what I was looking for. In a way it *is
like the iPad/Ipod touch/iphone. I believe on those, flicking the top reads
the status bar, and flicking the bottom reads their docks. I did know how to
flick between items on the desktop on my computer, but not how to manipulate
menus and dock.

Re: How do I Navigate the desktop, dock, and Menus Using the Trackpad Commander?

2010-06-12 Thread William Windels
Hi pete,
First of all, I don't know if the gestures are the same on the trackpad as on
the ipad since I haven't a ipad or iphone yet.

But, I can give you some gestures for the macbook (pro):
By default , there is no trackpad command for the desktop I think but you can
make gestures in the voiceover menu: commands > trackpad commander.
You have to chose for command or control or shift or option key in combination
with the gestures.
Unfortunately, the default gestures can't be changed.
For the doc: you touch the trackpad 2 times with 2 fingers at the bottom
(horizontal) of the trackpad (in the middle.
For the menubar: you do the same but on the top (horizontal) side of the
trackpad.
Interaction: swipe with to fingers from left to right or revers to interact
or stop interacting.
ascape: same as interacting but vertical in stead off horizontal.
Rotor: turn with 2 fingers from left to right or revers.

I hope this helps,

best regards,
William

How do I Navigate the desktop, dock, and Menus Using the Trackpad Commander?

2010-06-11 Thread Pete Nalda
I hope to be getting an iPad in the fall I'm trying to get proficient using
trackpad commander, as I've heard using it is similar VO on the iPad, so been
practicing on my Macbook Pro. Plus I find it's so much quicker to use than
keyboard navigation, so Thanks in Advance.
