Ah ok never mind. There are issues with Alex crashing 2010 Macs but since yours
is a 2014 model this doesn't apply to you.

Hi Larry. I think I may be of help but I need a little more information first.
First, how old is your Mac? Are you using the latest version of macOS?

How to research a problem after forced shutdown

2016-11-12 Thread Larry Thacker Jr.
Twice in the past week, I have come in to wake my Mac Mini from sleep to fined
it hopelessly locked up, apparently due to a rogue process eating up all the
resources. The only way to regain control is to force the machine to shut
down. Since there’s nothing I can do when it gets into this state, I’m
wondering if one of you Mac OS experts can tell me where I might look after the
fact to discern the source of the problem. Are there logs I can examine? My
computer usage patterns have not changed significantly except that nightowl has
been left running and I remember Skype possibly upgrading itself in the past
week or so.
