First it went away from my Iphone SE when i did public beta testing.
Now they’re back again.
But i seldom use them unless i really need something to be read loud and clear 
without alex.

Honestly, I think it's... well... you can complete that sentence as you see 
fit. LOL! Ultimately, I'm not doubting you, nor that they told you this, as 
much as I'm doubting that is the real reason. They're quite NSA 
specification secretive. in some respect. In other words, they don't  spill 
jack ***. I'm sure there's a more logical explaination, Getting them to tell 
us what the full reason is would be like trying to get cookie monster to eat 
asparagus, or getting a baby to eat a 16 ounce sirloin, mind you, in one 
sitting.

I just want the truth in what on earth happened. I frankly don't like 
Alex, but that's just me. I've grown to tollerate him, but that's about 
it. I find most of the other Nuance voices to be the same, given my 
hearing loss.

still has access to them. That did no good.


I've also restored and set up as a new device both from the phone 
itself as well as from ITunes directly on the mac. No good.


BTW, no, this is not a public nor private beta. Neither ones have ever 
touched this device.

voices right from the get go. Both enhanced were there. So, why the

Hi Andrew,

 Just to correct donna slightly,

 The fifth and sixth gen are both the same physical size,

 16 gig devices don't have a camera on it's, the 64 and 128 gig which is a 
sixth gen do have a camera.

 The fifth gen also had a carry strap for the ipOd,
 This connected to a little push pin thing on the back right hand bottom corner 
 which if you push in with your finger tip and it pops out, vise versa to put 
it in.


The sixth gen doesn't have this pin thing.

 The sixth gen appears to have the volume buttons slightly lower than the fifth 
gen,
But unless of course you have both you wont notice this ..

And as donna said the fifth gen wont update to IOS 10..

 Oh and they didn't put the fifth gen out in a 128 gig version.

Well, Chris, I got news for yuh, I can’t get the enhanced Siri voices either.  
Just the Normal ones.  Mind you, since Thom has come out on the iPhone as part 
of IOS10, I’ve been using the inhanced version of Thom both on my mid 2009 Mac 
book pro and my iPhone7+.  I’ve noticed that I can make Alex more expressive on 
my Mac but not my iPHone.  It’s that expressiveness which I love and which is a 
big reason why I stick to the Thom inhanced voice.  IF I could get the Aaron 
inhanced voice on my Mac, (Aaron being the US. male Siri voice) I would, but, 
since I want consistancy between my devices, I stick with inhanced Thom.

Enhanced Siri Voices, was: Re: Ipod touch latest and Alex

What I! wanna know, is why on earth I cannot get the Siri Enhanced voices 
back?


Accessibility is being completely beat around the bush with me regarding it. 
Some reps tell me they did away with the enhanced American english male and 
female voices, while others say, no, they should be there, while thirdly, 
others say, they're not there and were taken out, but they're going to be 
coming back soon.


I just want the truth in what on earth happened. I frankly don't like Alex, 
but that's just me. I've grown to tollerate him, but that's about it. I find 
most of the other Nuance voices to be the same, given my hearing loss.


The male Siri enhanced voice is about the only one I can do with ease. The 
compact isn't terrible, but it's way to downsampled and fuzzy for my liking. 
Plus, some of the way it pronounces things is utter crap!


Before anyone says anything, I've definitely done what was suggested by 
Applevis by plugging in my phone to the actual wall, not the mac before 
restoring an iCloud backup with the voices included from a device which 
still has access to them. That did no good.


I've also restored and set up as a new device both from the phone itself as 
well as from ITunes directly on the mac. No good.


BTW, no, this is not a public nor private beta. Neither ones have ever 
touched this device.


Even stranger, a friend of mine just got an iPhone 6S+, and he had the 
voices right from the get go. Both enhanced were there. So, why the hell 
can't I seem to get them.


It's the weirdest thing. I did an iOS update about 3 or 4 builds back, and 
ever since, they've just totally vannished.

Andrew,

The 5 is smaller than the 6.  The 6 looks kind of like an iPhone 6S, but I 
think it may be a bit thinner.  Also, check and see what software version you 
are running.  the 5 does not run IOS 10.

if you have the 6th gen, yes, this should be achieved using the same
method you did on your SE. But if you have an iPod 5, Alex is not
