Re: List View or column view

2016-03-20 Thread Michael Marshall
hey,
i used to love : column View but i find list view works better with folders
with lots of files in them.
This is just my personal observation and admittedly i have not played with the
settings for a wile.

List View or column view

2016-03-19 Thread Sandy Finley
I have been trying both to see which I prefer. I like column view because it is
so easy to hit the right arrow to open a folder. I have, however, found it
harder to know precisely where I am copy' something. For instance, I had my
iCloud Drive in columns view and I wanted to drop a folder inn there. I went to
iCloud Drive and pressed right arrow to open the list of folders. I pressed
command v for paste. The contents of the clip board ended up inside a subfolder
of the cloud drive rather than as ann additional subfolder itself. What is the
best way to know where you are copying when in column view? Or is it just as
easy to do what I am doing now, which is to fly back and forth, keeping column
view mostly but switch to list view when I want to copy?

2016-03-19 Thread Seyoon Choi
I usually prefer list view for most of my finder folders, though I understand
where you are coming from as well. I would just keep the way you use to do, an
if in column view I thought VO would report you if the folder that you are
focused in is expanded or not. I could be wrong about that, haven’t used column
view in awhile.

Hi,

Are you aware of the command arrow down shortcut to open the selected folder?
And, command up arrow to return you to the parent folder while in list view?
That’s my preferred method of navigating finder windows. This is normal Finder
behavior and not unique to VO.

If you’re in column view, position yourself on the folder in which you want the

folder inn there. I went to iCloud Drive and pressed right arrow to open
the list of folders. I pressed command v for paste. The contents of the
clip board ended up inside a subfolder of the cloud drive rather than as

switch to list view when I want to copy?

Re: List View or column view

2016-03-18 Thread Seyoon Choi
Also realized that this shortcut works with other Mac apps system wide to
expand and collapse anything. VO+ backslash also triggers the same way.
