The memory history is over ridden each time a new copy to the clipboard is done.

It is very useful to be able to choose one or more items from previous 
clipboard items to paste.

I use a memory manager which retains a list of cllipboard history items for 
reuse at will.

One arrows to the item desired, choosing it   is pasted at the current cursor 
position.

It can be configured for various appearance and functions.

For example, one is for it to be launched at bootup.

It can retain one word or an entire page of text or all text using the copy all 
command..

It appears as a menu extra and is chosen as any item located there.

As an example of use,here is the app store info, I created it by choosing the 
app name and url from the clipboard history list of previous
copies. for each line:
