Hi Mika, As I understand it the command is new in Lion and is designed to make it easier for you to activate the recovery partition. Re: making a bootable dvd was: Re: Booting from the Lion Partition
Dragging and dropping is needed if you make a usb install flash drive not a dvd, I made myself a dvd but want to make a flash drive, what is the command from the keyboard to drag and drop from source to destination? Original message: William, You don't need to drag and rop, just go to the toolbar, click the burn button, find the image, and about 30 minutes later or so, you'll have a DVD. Hi Dan: I'm confused. I haven't had to put my id in once I made the purchase. Install never asked for it. Have I missed something? RE: Booting from the Lion Partition
Hi, You don't need to enter your ID to clean install lion, or at least I didn't, all I did was connect via ethernet cable since the wifi menu is currently inaccessible, and it worked straight away. Re: Booting from the Lion Partition
Well, if you did the download and install, it asked for your Apple ID and password before approving the purchase. then, if you went through and completed the install, it wouldn't ask you again. However, if you ever want to install from the bootable partition, then, it will ask again. I think I have found a way to do it though. I can boot from my external drive, this will be a full VO with a full OS booted, I think, then, it should work. So, there is a work around, but, I am still curious about doing it from the bootable partition that is designed for that purpose.
