RE: Upgrading to IOS Public beta 11

2017-06-30 Thread Simon Fogarty
Morning macsters,

Can someone tell me how the heck to delete an app from my iPhone runnin the
IOS 11 beta?

I've tried the double tap and the go into edit mode but I have not been able
to find the delete option
or even get it to work with the current delete app function.

Anyone know how you are now ment to delete things?

Cheers

Simon Fthen

What trouble are you having with the application downloads.

Hi!
A bit of a lag is there but it is so small i don’t find it irritating.
But this is on an Iphone Se.
SO far Ios 11 does not impress me.
SOme new things in the control center makes it more usable ofcourse but i
thought they should add more voices to swedish but sadly not.

Try a two finger double swipe up or down and tell me what you think!

My phone doesn’t seem to be liking swipes up / down with two or three fingers,
I’m finding that sensitivity seems to be lacking currently but might be just a
first release issue.

DON”T!

I have and although a number of things are looking good
I am finding that the screen sensitivity of my iPhone 7+ isn’t as lively as
normal,
A couple of itunes installations wouldn’t take the accept / purchase without
closing the app and then reopening it.
Nice new feature in sounds within settings, or at least I’ve not noticed it
before but a feature to download all purchased ring and alert tones infact it’s
all tones whether you have purchased or made them yourself.

So far only a couple of bugs but I’m sure there will be more to come.

But the sensitivity of the screen is a bit of an issue.

I’m finding a few things that may not necessarily be bugs but operate
differently.

1. The 4-finger swipe to change apps no longer works. It takes me to a sign in
screen and asks for my device password then kicks me back to the home screen.
This is frustrating as I use that gesture all the time. Yes, reporting this.

2. The app Switcher has reversed the order of apps again, moving them from most
recent on the right to most recent on the left. The Home designation is gone
and I haven’t yet figured out how to get Hand off to work, say to switch back
after an accidental hand off occurs.

3. Some screen sensitivity issues, either too sensitive or sluggish depending
on the app and task. I’m using a 6S.

4. Voice Dream Reader can’t get books from the cloud. I was able to go into the
files app and share then copy a book to Voice Dream Reader though so just a
different way of doing things.

5. getting used to the drag and drop feature took some time. I didn’t realize
you could grab multiple things, like apps, to drag and drop but once I figured
it out, I do like it.

6. OK, call me weird but I like the new app store. I’ve had no issues updating
or searching for apps.

Other than a few apps I’m beta testing on their own, apart from the iOS beta,
things seem to be working OK though.

2017-06-29 Thread Simon Fogarty
Hi scott,

Not a braille user so not a worry for me in this case.

The screen sensitivity issues I'm having are a lack of sensitivity when doing
things like 2 finger swipe up or down,
So two finger swipe up to the top of the screen doesn't work,

This is on a 7+ so possibly the screen is the difference.

A couple of new rota options, mis spelled words while typing a message in the
iMessage app.

And a number of other features which I'm so far going to say are very cool.

here are some bugs I have found. I'm not noticing my touch screen on my 6S
behaving any differently.
1. The messages rotor option has disappeared from mail. There is an actions
rotor option, but no effective way to jump between messages.
2. When editing using a braille display, the cursor jumps around erradically.
3. In the weather app, the 24 hour forecast does not display the hour.
E.G. 8 PM, sunny, 77 degrees. The hour of that forecasted weather condition and
tempature is not read by VO.
4. When typing using a braille display, for some reason, text shortcuts appear
not to be functioning. It works fine using the onscreen keyboard.

When you have apps in your app store that you have purchased, but not
installed onto your iPhone, do you see a download button when going to
install them?

Someone on Twitter was saying you have to install purchased apps that
you want on your iPhone from iTunes.

I was moving the new Files app into a folder. Now if you do the 1-finger flick
down with actions selected in the rotor, instead of “Arrange Apps” it will say
“Edit Mode”.

If you double tap on this, you will find an action called Drag and Drop where
it used to say Move App.

Double tapping on Drag and Drop will pause your screen for a second. Treat this
just as you would the iOS10 move command. Go to the folder you want or
location, flick down and you will see an action to drop the item into that
folder.

Sorry, I feel like I’m missing a step here but once in the folder I believe you
have to confirm the drop spot with another 1-finger flick. give it some time as
it’s not as clean yet as the iOS10 app moving.

Anders, have you hear d the new swedish siri voice? I thought it was quite
nice. Wonder if you can only use it with Siri.
One bug i noticed in earlier iOs versions has apparently been fixed, you can
now add posts to calendar using Siri. I’m not quite sure what i like or don’t
like about the app store.
I think there will always be a limited amount of swedish voices. There are
gazillions of english voices fro everywhere but only two or three swedish ones,
that’s the way of the world alas.

SOme new things in the control center makes it more usable ofcourse but i

2017-06-28 Thread Caitlyn Furness
Hi,
I am having trouble with pages.

There is supposed to be a keyboard shortcut, command enter, which makes a page
break. when I hit this, my mac makes a bonking noise, and I am unable to
perform the keyboard shortcut. If I go to the insert section on the menu bar,
and choose insert page break, then it works.

Is there any fix for this?? I’d love to be able to use this keyboard shortcut
versus going through the menu bar..

thanks!
Caitlyn
ps-I am thinking about getting Scrivener, any users of that particular app here?

Re: Upgrading to IOS Public beta 11

2017-06-28 Thread Jenine Stanley

A couple of itunes installations wouldn’t take the accept / purchase

Nice new feature in sounds within settings, or at least I’ve not

So far only a couple of bugs but I’m sure there will be more to come.

But the sensitivity of the screen is a bit of an issue.

Simon,
That IS the whole idea behind betas. Your mission is to seek out and
destroy all bugs. Its not to get a sneak peek at the future.

So far only a couple of bugs but I’m sure there will be more to come.

But the sensitivity of the screen is a bit of an issue.

Try a two finger double swipe up or down and tell me what you think!

My phone doesn’t seem to be liking swipes up / down with two or three fingers,
I’m finding that sensitivity seems to be lacking currently but might be just a
first release issue.

Nice new feature in sounds within settings, or at least I’ve not noticed
it before but a feature to download all purchased ring and alert tones
infact it’s all tones whether you have purchased or made them yourself.

So far only a couple of bugs but I’m sure there will be more to come.

But the sensitivity of the screen is a bit of an issue.

You have to enroll again and start over with 11. You won’t get it
automatically if you have 10.3.3 installed as it’s a different signed boot file.

Simon,
That IS the whole idea behind betas. Your mission is to seek out and
destroy all bugs. Its not to get a sneak peek at the future.

Hi List,

DON”T!

I have and although a number of things are looking good

I am finding that the screen sensitivity of my iPhone 7+ isn’t as lively
as normal,

A couple of itunes installations wouldn’t take the accept / purchase
without closing the app and then reopening it.

I’m not noticing this sensitivity issue yet. I’m just up and running with the
beta though installing it early this morning.
