So you don't use a wizard which would ask you for a lot of the information
relating to setting up a machine.

2019-09-13 Thread Simon A Fogarty
What type of installation media are you using to make the vm?
Is it just the installer file?
A Bootable USB installer?
Or an installation DVD / CD?

Are you using the installation wizard within Fusion or are you doing this
install manually?

What is fusion saying to you and if possible what part of the install are you
up to?

RE: using keyboard in mac virtual machine.

2019-09-12 Thread Simon A Fogarty
Ok there is one of your issues,

If you don't have the OS installed to the vm environment then you probably
aren't being giving the option to get into the vm window.

Voiceover with vm fusion will speak the suggestion of which keys to use to
get into the vm window when your actual vm starts up.

If you have voiceover running,
Then it should speak the correct command to you as well, vo is really good like
that.

Ok, yeah just checked my workstation notes,
That ctrl g is for windows to vm workstation.

Check under the vm fusion menus for the full screen shortcut key, it's
possibly command option enter,

But here is a key press to go in to focus of the vm. I can't remember what it
is at the moment.

RE: using keyboard in mac virtual machine.

2019-09-12 Thread Simon A Fogarty
Ensure that focus is on the virtual machine window by using I think it's ctrl
plus g,

Oh and I find it helps to turn vo off on the host machine when you are dealing
with your VM,

It seems to make my life easier with the vm.

Subject: using keyboard in mac virtual machine.

hey all,
am going to make a VM of Mojave when i upgrade to catalina so i can use some
old apps till new versions come out with 64 support.
what i’m wondering is how you get the keyboard to communicate with the VM using
fusion.
i’m using a macbook and need to start VO in the new vm to install.
any help would be great.

thanks

Michael
