Well Eric, I want to believe your three other possibilities, but due to Musk's previous actions like firing the accessibility team and forcing almost all the employees out of there by their resignations, it sounds like he don't give a damn about us who don't use the native Twitter app or the website. I've even said on my Twitter account that there's no room for people like you and I in Musk's Twitter. As for Mastodon, I've set up an account on there. I'm just waiting for approval for the server I chose. At this point, Mastodon is looking like a viable alternative. Been posting via the twitter site as responses to many of my followers tweets to cross post and follow on mastodon. And yes, twitter apparently shut down the 3rd party app API on Thursday 2023-01-12 without announcement or comment. They have also not responded to queries from much of the tech media outlets and Elon Musk has been silent on this point. He comments about everything else but has made absolutely no comment or responses on any directed tweets on this subject sent his way. Now, three possibilities present themselves on this: 1. Twitter shut down the API in order to perform system upgrades 2. Something was broken and they are working on it 3. Hi all. According to what I’ve been reading, most third party clients are not working with Twitter. It seems to be a big problem for many. I wonder if it is because of the changes they are making with the timelines. Hopefully, they’ll fix it, unless they’re wanting to force us all to use their own client in order to push the ads and content they choose.. You know what? You aren’t the only one. Mine stopped working while still online and then when I went to restart it, it got caught in an authentication loop that even my sighted roomie can’t get around. I have tried contacting the developers and even posted a screen capture video to their twitter accounts (on the main timeline) and so far, no response. I really need this client for some of the work I am doing for my work as a researcher in health news. Without it, I am stuck either using the website (which is slow and cumbersome) or one of the other twitter clients. Btw, TweetDesk no longer is supported under Mac. Been trying some of the others on the Mac app store and, so far, accessibility has been mostly a miss.
