Re: I found a accessible fb client for the Mac.

2016-01-30 Thread Grant
Hi Shawn,

It simply uses the Facebook web interface and offers a choice between the
desktop and mobile websites. I only spent a few minutes with this app so I’m by
no means an expert, but I noticed it immediately disappears from the
COMMAND+TAB order when you move focus out of the app and the only way to get
back in that I found, apart from finding the app in spotlight or the
applications folder and running it, was by simulating a mouse click on the
app’s icon in the menu bar.

There are several unlabelled buttons, two of which had the same help tag “show
the settings menu” or something to that effect. When I pressed one such button,
it caused the whole app to disappear. I believe this was a full screen button
which creates a new full screen space in Mission Control, but I found that
there was no way to bring VoiceOver’s focus to the app in full screen mode. The
other button really does open a popup menu where you can do things like open a
preferences window to adjust notification settings.

I don’t think this will turn out to be a practical solution to using Facebook
Chat on the Mac for me. I still have an older version of Trillian which seems
to work fine, but I’m sure it’ll eventually break with changes to Facebook’s
API. It certainly would be nice if the developers would maintain accessibility
in Trillian.

Cheers,

Grant

Hi,

I am trying to Go For Facebook. I am still learning it but what I find
extremely annoying is how, while looking at the notifications,
Voiceover reads a whole bunch of numbers before finally stating what
the notification is.

You can’t—unless you already have it. For example, if you’ve used Trillian
before, you may have a Time Machine backup where the older version lives. If
that’s the case you can simply copy that into your Applications folder and it
should work.

RE: I found a accessible fb client for the Mac.

2016-01-28 Thread BBS

contact list? I'm looking for an app that just has the contact list. Let us
know.
