Re: Pairing of Amazon Basics keyboard.
I should clarify that the Apple keyboard does have a switch but there is no way to tell if it's currently on or off as it is just a toggle pushbutton. So, if the keyboard isn't working you push it and wait a few seconds to find out if it pairs up, otherwise you just turned it off :) That said, I usually leave mine on all the time and it goes a month or two on a set of batteries. I've used PC keyboards on the Mac before and had problems with Command and Option being reversed. Is this not the case on the Amazon keyboard? Re: Pairing of Amazon Basics keyboard.
No, the Amazon Keyboard replicates the Apple keyboard accept for the control and option keys work as VO although they do not speak and nor does the command or option keys unless you are in the practice area, where you practice your gestures. I found out by accident that the command and option keys worked by accident. I leave my Apple keyboard on all the time as it's running on a pair of duricell ultra batteries at the moment. Once they run out then I'll be using the battery charger supplied by Apple and whatever batteries the charger comes with as you get six. The Amazon keyboard is plastic and very light where as the Apple Keyboard is made of aliminum. Kawal. Reply-To: viph...@googlegroups.com Hello. I received today my Amazon Basics keyboard and am unable to pair it. However, if someone has one of these, I'd like to know how the batteries go in, I put them with the two pointy things two the left. It doesn't matter how I slide the switch to the left or right, it's not showing up in the bluetooth settings. I'd like to know if the pairing button is next to the slider switch and whether or not I have the batteries in correctly, how to pair it and what way should I slide the switch please? Thanks in advance. Kawal. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the VIPhone Google Group. Re: Pairing of Amazon Basics keyboard.
It's just a little smaller, if I put it on my Apple keyboard it's a few inches smaller and takes two tripple a Batteries and is lovely to type on. Also the other thing about it that it has a switch on it where as the Apple keyboard does not. Now, I can pair my Apple keyboard to my I Mac and have a dedicated keyboard to use with my I phone when I'm not using my braille display at home. Although I can use both at the same time. I don't know if you know but if you have your Apple keyboard connected to your phone, you can use another bluetooth keyboard at the same time. I wonder why that is. Kawal. Re: Pairing of Amazon Basics keyboard.
Hi, I don't know if I have the same keyboard as you I got mine about a year ago, but the switch is right for on, and left for off, there is a spot near the switch that fills like rubber, just a small dot, press that and hold to pear the keyboard HTH, Angelo On Dec 28, 2012, at 1:08 PM, Kawal Gucukoglu kawa...@me.com wrote: It's just a little smaller, if I put it on my Apple keyboard it's a few inches smaller and takes two tripple a Batteries and is lovely to type on. Yes that is the same as the one you have. It's working beautifully now. Thank you for taking the time for getting back to me. Kawal.
