Hi,

I don't believe that it's available in the UK yet. Below is pasted from the
description in the Canada Store.

Seeing AI is a free app that narrates the world around you. Designed for the
blind and low vision community, this ongoing research project harnesses the
power of AI to open up the visual world and describe nearby people, text, and
objects. Optimized for use with VoiceOver, the app enables you to recognize: •
Short Text - Speaks text as soon as it appears in front of the camera. •
Documents - Provides audio guidance to capture a printed page, and
recognizes the text, along with its original formatting. • Products - Scans
barcodes, using audio beeps to guide you; hear the name, and package
information when available. (works with iPhone 6 and later) • People
- Saves people’s faces so you can recognize them, and get an estimate of their
age, gender, and emotions. • Scenes (early preview) - Hear an overall
description of the scene captured. • Images in other apps - Just tap “Share”
and “Recognize with Seeing AI” to describe images from Mail, Photos, Twitter,
and more. Seeing AI is built to help you achieve more by leveraging the power
of the cloud and artificial intelligence. As the research progresses, more
channels may be added. Visit http://SeeingAI.com<http://seeingai.com/> for
more details and instructional videos. Available in the U.S., Canada, India,
Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore. Coming soon to more countries. Languages
supported – English Supported on iPhone 5C, 5S and later; best performance
with iPhone 6S and later models. Questions, feedback or feature requests? Email
us at seeingai @ microsoft.com<http://microsoft.com/>.

I love the way it helps you scan documents/barcodes; well, for the most part.
I love how it helps you align the camera with the product/document, however,
I’ve had several issues where I couldn’t get products to scan at all, or had
trouble aligning them, so that may just be something I’ll have to play around
with.
I got it to scan the instruction card from a mix I was going to cook, which
my zoomEx always has the hardest time with, and it read it almost perfectly,
except it constantly said the recipe called for H cup of water, which it read
that as no matter how many times I scanned it.
I later got sighted assistance with it, and found out the “H, cup water,” was
1/2 cup water.

I suppose it depends on which side of the fence one is on. Some women marry
their financial plan and men marry to get a maid. Maybe we should ask SIRI her
opinion? LOL.

Visit http://SeeingAI.com for more details and
instructional videos. Available in the U.S., Canada, India, Hong Kong, New
Zealand, Singapore. Coming soon to more countries. Languages supported –
English Supported on iPhone 5C, 5S and later; best performance with iPhone 6S
and later models. Questions, feedback or feature requests? Email us at seeingai

2017-07-16 Thread David Chittenden
When testing Seeing AI, KNFB Reader, and Prizmo Go, on a complex magazine page
with multiple columns and fonts, KNFB does the best.

Surprisingly, however, both Prizmo Go, and Seeing AI, do better on simple pages.

Seeing AI really shines on short text and bar code. I especially like short
text locating signage when I am out and about.

Kind regards,

They must work on its accuracy. It had me 18 years older then I really am and
my wife 6 years older. I am listed as a 76 years young man with grey hair and
a beard. I’m greying at the temples but, only 58 years young. It is still a
good app, though. Just question its accuracy in facial recognition.

I loaded the app on my IPhone and took a picture of my wife. Being married to
me has aged her by 6 years, according to the app. It had her age 6 years older
then she really is. Well, it is good for a laugh. All joking aside, the app
works for people shots and does recognize dogs as not people, I took a picture
of our Husky X. I would recommend it, and have sent the YouTube link to people
in Canada and New Zealand.
