Two-factor authentication does not use recovery keys of any kind, so just make
sure you add at least one trusted phone number in case your devices are
unavailable to receive codes via push notification.

2 step uses your phone number, 2 factor uses devices to push notification too.
So instead of getting a text message, you will get a notification, you will
have to prove it, then it will give you a code to enter on that new device.

Sure. Go to
appleid.apple.com
sign in and it is in the security pain of your account. I’ve recently
unenrolled from two-step verification and enrolled in two-factor authentication.

Re: getting a new apple recovery key

2016-09-25 Thread Kawal Gucukoglu
Hello Anouk,

If you have 2-factor verification, no need for a key. You use your I Cloud ID
if you don't get the verification code right after a number of attempts. If
you get the code wrong, you need to wait 8 hours. If it still doesn't work,
then you need to call Apple and they will need to run through a number of
options with you. Not sure what they are as I've never got that far.

Hope this is OK.

Kawal.
