Hi!
You can also use handbrake which is free.
Though I am not sure if it can rip DRM protected dvd’s.

Re: Ripping dvds with audiodescription

2016-04-27 Thread Nektarios Mallas
Hello.
Yes it is possible to do that.
All you have to do, is when you select the audio track to include on your
destination file to make sure that the track with the description is the one
you want.
What is the name of this track is different from dvd to dvd, but it is easy to
identify it through priview or the name of the track itself.

Hope this helps.
Nektarios.

Re: ripping DVDs

2015-04-28 Thread Emilio
Juliette,

All you need to enter information for concerning TV shows is the title,
which is the episode title of the program, the show title, which refers
to the TV series name, and the episode number, which is the order by
which you want the shows to appear in your iTunes library, and this is also
how they will appear on the Apple TV.
The episode I.D. is something you can leave blank. Also, if you want to
have the TV program categorized by season, then enter a number value in the
season field.
Personally, I just number everything sequentially because when I load a TV
program on my Apple TV I want the episodes to appear in one single list,
which can be slightly time-consuming, but well-worth the effort as it is
reflected nicely when using the Apple TV.

Hope this has been helpful

OK,

am I not interacting with the right area? Thanks.

Are you sure all episodes are in one file?
I had to add a second and third action for each episode before pressing the rip
button.
That made each episode ripped to its own file.
If you did get all episodes in 1 file, I dont believe they can be labeled
correctly.

Thanks,

Hey Daniel,

I have found that Hand Break is an accessible program with Voiceover.
It is free, and it works quite well for ripping DVD protected content to
your computer.
The ripping process takes roughly about an hour or less (depending on
length
of DVD). The ripped image is placed on the desktop as an MP4 file,
which you

can copy into the Automatically add to iTunes
folder. Once loading iTunes, the file will successfully import into the
movies category.

Hey Daniel,

I have found that Hand Break is an accessible program with Voiceover.
It is free, and it works quite well for ripping DVD protected content to
your computer.
The ripping process takes roughly about an hour or less (depending on length
of DVD). The ripped image is placed on the desktop as an MP4 file, which you
can copy into the Automatically add to iTunes
folder. Once loading iTunes, the file will successfully import into the
movies category.

Hi,

You might want to hold off on buying DVD Remaster Pro as it will
probably tell you that any DVD you try to rip is encrypted... the FAQ
helpfully tells you that most commercial DVDs are protected by CSS,
that the law probably allows you to make backup copies but it's not
clear and therefore the software has been hobbled to cover the
authors. Does anyone know a way around this or have I blown my £35?

Re: Ripping DVDs for streaming from apple TV.

2012-01-08 Thread Mr. L. Alexander
yes.

firstly, are you running 10.6 or 10.7? I have to ask as the piece of software I
use will only run in 10.6 at the latest as it's no longer in production. and
was compiled for PPC systems hence the need for rosetta.

the program is called mactheripper and is free.

it's fairly easy to use. it's designed to capture the whole DVD and you can
create the contents as a folder to play in DVD player as a virtual DVD. it's
great software and I love it. helps to keep some of my DVD's to disk without
having to take the DVD's to wherever I'm going.

Re: Ripping DVDs for streaming from apple TV.

2012-01-08 Thread John Panarese
Fairmount.app is a way around this. I believe it comes with VLC, or, I
think, that's where I got it from. You insert the dVD, run Fairmount and then
use DVD Remaster. For backups only, of course.

2012-01-08 Thread Emilio
Hey Daniel,

I have found that Hand Break is an accessible program with Voiceover.
It is free, and it works quite well for ripping DVD protected content
to your computer.
The ripping process takes roughly about an hour or less (depending on
length of DVD). The ripped image is placed on the desktop as an MP4
file, which you can copy into the Automatically add to iTunes
folder. Once loading iTunes, the file will successfully import into
the movies category.

I've heard about that program, but I'm not sure that will bypass copy
protection. I always thought you needed another program to do that itself
since dvd's are protected from copying?

handbrake will manage certain formats fairly well.

I use mactheripper and it's a nice, lightweight app if you have OS 10.6 or
earlier with rosetta support installed. as it's a PPC app. I use it quite a bit
and it handles a fair bit of the newer encryptions. there are of course other
apps worth checking out.

Hello.
Dvd remaster pro can do the job for you. It is not free but it works great and
is accessible.
You can also do this using hand break but then you need some other utility to
bypass the css protection found on Dvds.

Regards.
Nektarios.
