Re: Tables, Tables, Tables!

2018-08-04 Thread Anne Robertson
Hello Tom,

Going to a specific page in Pages is complicated. In the table of contents, you
can navigate to the page number, bring the mouse and do VO-Shift-Space and
you’ll be a page or two before the one you want! To be quite honest, Pages is
rubbish for reading long documents. It works great for writing and editing, and
I’m currently using Pages for translating a guide book, but I wouldn’t try to
read with it. The PDF version of our book is much easier to navigate.

Cheers,

Anne

Hello Anne,
I downloaded your book after a little problem with the website. I have all
three formats and I’m reading it now. However, I have one question. How do I
change pages in Pages? It’s easy in preview with the PDF file and then I books
with the book format. However, when I go to pages, your book is over 100 pages
long and I cannot find how to go to a specific page in your book. Such a simple
thing but so frustrating.

Hello Kat,

TextEdit is hopeless with tables, but Pages should be fine. If focus is jumping
around, make sure that your mouse pointer is set to ignore the other cursors.
We go into quite a lot of detail about tables in our book on Pages so that
would be a good place to look for more information.
Cheers,

looked through the archives, but I would be so grateful for any help. How
can one successfully navigate and edit tables in Pages or Text Edit or
both? I find any interaction with tables in both apps, (and yes, I am
interacting), very inconsistent, with the added bonus in Pages of the focus
being thrown to the end of the document when I stop interacting with a
table. Thanks in advance for any tips.
