Re: Typing Messages in IOS when onscreen keyboard not visible

2024-01-14 Thread Tom Rash
Just turn blue tooth off and on again. This will disconnect the keyboard or
whatever device you are using. Turn it on again so you can have blue tooth for
watch and things like that., but turning it off and on should take care of the
problem.

Exactly.
Turning off bluetooth will cause your iPhone to “let go” of any connected
bluetooth device.

I am having the same issue. I can do Braille Screen input, but I would like to
have my keyboard back. Someone suggested a soft reset but have not tried that
yet.

Typing Messages in IOS when onscreen keyboard not visible

2024-01-11 Thread pdevasto0219
When I'm in my office, my iPhone SE 2022 is connected to a Bluetooth
Keyboartd. When I am on the road, even though I'm way out of range of the
keyboard, I'm still not able to get to the on screen keyboard in some apps
because the phone is still somehow hanging onto the hardware keyboard.
Messages, fortunately, has a dictate button even though there is no on
screen keyboard, so that's not a problem. I do have other apps that don't
have the dictate button, so I'm stuck without the keyboard. If I have a
sighted person around, I can turn VO off, and have that person tap in the
text entry area and here comes the keyboard, so I'm safe. Is there any way,
when VO is active, for me to do something like this? Double-tapping or
double-tapping and hold doesn't seem to work, but as I say as soon as VO is
turned off, a sighted person can tap in the box and get the keyboard. I'm
hoping maybe I'm missing a gesture, so wanted to ask.

Thanks so much,

Pete De Vasto
