RE: Update to Orbit Writer

2020-08-12 Thread kglists via MacVisionaries
Has the new keyboard come out? What is it like and is it small as I don’t
always want to take my Focus 14 out and so this would be useful. Can the orlit
writer connect to multiple devices like windows, Mac and I phone?
I have not been following this thread so sorry if the questions have been asked
before.

Hi Traci,
Well, I had a conversation with a representative from Orbit Research who told
me the same thing you were told about an update coming soon. Right now, I have
my iPhone working fairly consistently. If I power off the Orbit when I've
completed my session with my phone, the next time I start IT SEEMS TO CONNECT
REGULARLY NOW. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO PAIR WITH A SECOND DEVICE AND WON'T TRY
AT THIS point. When I have switched channels, the iPhone channel has to be set
up and paired. It's a new product and since I wanted to use this primarily with
my iPhone, I will keep the device and see what happens.
Best Regards,

Les

Subject: Update to Orbit Writer

So a few things here. I’m following the thread on AppleVis and saw that Orbit
Research posted.

I have sent an email to tech support like they requested and laid out my issues
and concerns.

Orbit contacted me and asked questions about my steps for pairing the Orbit
Writer to my devices. It seems as if I am following the instructions correctly.
Orbit tech support said an update is coming soon.

The thing is my 30 day window for return is drawing close. If the update isn’t
here by say next Tuesday, I’ll have a decision to make.

My other concern is updates can only be done via Windows. I have been
reacquainting myself with the Windows environment, but I am not as proficient
as I use to be.

What are other users thoughts? How about those of you that are more familiar
with Orbit Research?

Thank you,
Traci

Re: Update to Orbit Writer

2020-08-11 Thread Scott Davert
Hi Peggy.
It could be done with Narrator on Windows I expect, though I've never
run an update with Nerrorator to try an update from Orbit Research. If
your husband's computer is running Windows 10, Nerrorator does a
decent job for things like this most of the time. You can bring up
Nerrorator by pressing the Windows control, and Enter keys together.
If on an older OS, you can still try Narrator if you want, but the
command is windows with U. That said, this is Mac Visionaries, not
Windows Visionaries, so I'll leave it at that. :)

Hi Candy,

The thread I was talking about was on applevis.com Search for Orbit Writer and
you should find it.

On the Windows side of things, Ive been using Narrator. It sounds like that
complicates things further with Orbit Writer.

RE: Update to Orbit Writer

2020-08-10 Thread Les Kriegler
Hi Traci,
Well, I had a conversation with a representative from Orbit Research who told
me the same thing you were told about an update coming soon.

Thank you,
Traci
