Re: Very annoying "Safari Busy" message
Just for your info "The friend mail" as mentioned above is here: http://thefriendmail.com/ I've not actually tried it though. As for mobile facebook; It would seem that FB have changed the way that the pages refresh. Notice that when you hit enter to update your status or add a comment it doesn't make the page loading sound. At a guess they've workeda way with java to keep the page active rather than relying on the user to do a manual page update by reacting with the content. Another work around, apart from the VO on and off, is hitting command R to do a refresh. I notice that avoiding the tab key tends to help and just using VO arrow keys seems to work better though there is no hard and fast rule. We should let apple know about this problem as it does happen on many other pages on the net where the page is a little lively. Just one other thing, to help if you are using the standard FB page: I use an extension that kills the adverts, shh: https://extensions.apple.com/ And just do a VO F and search for Facebook ads blocker. Re: Very annoying "Safari Busy" message
Another thing I tried, which I'm not sure has worked or not: Go to Voiceover Utility (VO+f8), then press command + 8 (I think), to get to the web catigory. Next, find the two radio buttons under "Navigate web pages by:", and try using "Navigate by grouped items", or whatever it's called. Didn't sort out my thing with FB Mobile not submitting comments propperly. Has anyone got in touch with apple or not? I'm guessing it's purely a VO issue, otherwise it'd have been caught in the testing phase. HTH a bit, On Mar 7, 4:26 am, Ricardo Walker wrote: > Hi, > > Try this. Hey there Nope, I've got a core i7 macbook pro. Although I've been trying to find a mini for my Mom. Thanks for the advice, I've heard that too. Usually I'm on miriani (I still use monkey term...for those who stopped using it, I recommend you check out http://www.valiant8086.com Also, sterio mix on the mac (which used to be audio highjack pro) for me is no longer working - I highjack audio and all sound mutes itself, rather annoying. thanks Tyler On 2011-03-06, at 10:40 PM, Chris Snyder wrote: > Tyler, > If I'm remembering your past messages to the list correctly, you use a Mac > Mini, right? > Until I hooked a monitor to mine, Safari was always bloody busy! Re: Very annoying "Safari Busy" message
Tyler, If I'm remembering your past messages to the list correctly, you use a Mac Mini, right? Until I hooked a monitor to mine, Safari was always bloody busy! Hooking up the monitor made everything run so much more smoothly including Safari. The only thing I do now with Fusion is pop onto VIPMud to check in once in a while. Oh, and there is a sound plugin that is unique to Goldwave that I miss rather a lot, so I go there for that sometimes too. It's very very rare that I even bother with Windows anymore. Hi, Try this. Open safari and go to preferences with command comma. now interact with the toolbar and select appearances. Stop interacting with the toolbar now and navigate to display images when webpage opens and uncheck it. Re: Very annoying "Safari Busy" message
Ok, I've had major problems with the mobile Facebook site the past few days. It's like they changed things. I used to get a new page if I clicked "see more stories". Now it just expands the page and I have to vo plus right or down arrow down until I get to the next stories. This means I have to arrow through the ones I just read. What a pain. I also get the busy busy busy thing. The thing I found that helps is turning VO off and then back again. Someone already mentioned this already but I just wanted to say that this is the only work around I have found. What is Friend Mail? I noticed this problem as well a few weeks ago. Use the main site now although that seems to refresh every so often and puts me on a different part of the page for some reason. I haven't found anything to consistently work around the "See more stories" link. However, several times I have clicked on it, then began reading back and forth a bit with vo+right or left arrows, and magically, it will begin reading more stories. Re: Very annoying "Safari Busy" message
I've been having this problem for a couple of weeks now on the Facebook mobile site. It's become almost impossible to read comments let alonepost a comment for me. Most of the time I just give up and use my iPhone or iPad for Facebook at the moment. I wonder if it's worth contacting apple over? Maybe Facebook to, although as far as I'm concerned facebook have never seamed to concerned with accessibility problems before. Kari. Re: Very annoying "Safari Busy" message
I had difficulties with FaceBook last night on the mobile site in WebKit. I would press VO/space on the see more stories link and it would do nothing. It was as if I hadn't done a thing. I also noticed that when I wanted to comment, I could press the comment link and it would take forever for the page of comments to come up. I got annoyed and got off FaceBook. I'm going to see if it's still acting up tonight. On Mar 4, 2011, at 9:16 PM, Sarah Alawami wrote: > I have. It appears facebook is having issues again. Very annoying "Safari Busy" message
I was just on the Facebook mobile site and clicked the "delete" button on a message in my inbox. After I clicked the button, Voiceover began saying "Safari busy" whenever I tried to press a key. It did this for at least a minute, sometimes saying "Safari ready" and then "Safari busy" again a second or two later. I have had this problem once or twice before, but this was the first time I have had it consistently. I turned my Mac off, took it home, and tried to delete another message only to encounter the same problem. Could anyone tell me why these "Busy" messages are used? I've never encountered anything like this on an iPhone, iPad or PC. Thanks in advance. Eric -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
