Re: Which ear phones/buds for excellent music on ipod/iphone?
Hi Andrew, David’s recommendations are very good but i thought I might add another angle. For the best headphones I have used, I am an AKG fan myself. There used to be a reference standard pair called the AKG k240DF which were used in recording studios very heavily. These are an over the ear model with a defused field type transducer which had great base response. However, the qualifier is they require a lot of power to light up. The iPhone 7+ with adapter do quite well at powering these headphones but previous iterations of the iPhone required a headphone amplifier to really get the most out of them. (especially if you’re like me and are used to blowing your head off with the sound pressure level) I have used a custom made to my ear pair of Stacks headphones but these would not be good for your application. First of all they cost over $5000, they required being wired in line with the speaker terminals to power and used electrostatic film technology meaning they needed a high current power source so needed to be plugged in. However, if you didn’t mind having thousands of volts near your head or being wired in with several cables to your stereo system they were mind blowing in their sound quality. The AKG headphones I mentioned can be still had on Ebay and other music sites for about $100 to $200 and AKG makes a modern version of these, I think they are 340 series but I’m not sure the exact part number. On the ear bud side, the ones that come with the iPhone aren’t bad for the money. In my local mall there’s a company that will scan your ear with a laser and 3D print you a set of headphones for about $300. These aren’t bad either and the fit is obviously fantastic do to the fact they are custom made. I’d also support David’s suggestion of waiting a month for the wireless EarPods. These should be about $159 or so. Hope that helps. > On Nov 6, 2016, at 1:56 PM, Andrew Lamanchewrote: > > Hi, > > Could you share your experiences with best possible ear phones/buds that I > could use with ipod and iphone with good base to listen to music? Re: Which ear phones/buds for excellent music on ipod/iphone?
Apple announced the Air Pods during their September special event when they announced the iPhone 7 and 7+. Apple distributed beta units to various tech reviewers, all of whom have given very good to excellent reviews. Try searching on Google for Air Pod review to locate some. The Airpods autosync between all devices on the same Apple ID when paired with one device. They do not have any wires. Each AirPod has an IR sensor on the inside to automatically know when it is in an ear. When in the ear, the AirPod activates. If both are in both ears, one gets stereo, whilst if one is in an ear, one gets mono. The device auto selects. Each AirPod has a mic, so reviewers state that when both are in, Siri works well, even in noisy environments. Double-tapping the outside of the AirPod, whilst it is in the ear, activates Siri. Reviewers state that one cannot adjust volume on the AirPod directly; it must be adjusted on the iDevice, Mac, or Apple Watch. Battery life is around 5 hours. Recharge for 3 hours of use takes 15 mins in the case. Case provides enough battery for 5 recharges, or up to 24 hours of usage before case must be recharged. AirPods can be paired with non-Apple devices. Apparently, all paring occurs in the case, so the case manages the initial pairing set-up protocols. One reviewer stated range of 800 feet with an iPhone, in the person's yard. I have not seen any official statement of distance from Apple. Hello David, The earbuds that came with my iphone are acceptable for now. Can you share more light on the new earpods coming? Is there a page I could look at? Many thanks for getting back to me on this. Andrew > On 6 Nov 2016, at 20:26, David Chittendenwrote: > > Wat is your opinion of the earpods which came with your iPhone. Wat is your opinion of the earpods which came with your iPhone. If they are acceptible, I would wait another month or so for the new Air Pods to come out" They really look interesting. I plan to get a pair. Which ear phones/buds for excellent music on ipod/iphone?
Hi, Could you share your experiences with best possible ear phones/buds that I could use with ipod and iphone with good base to listen to music? Quality is important for me even if I were to save up to get them. I'd prefer the earbuds that sit in your ear rather then go into the ear canal. I guess since I have no sight, I like to be able to hear some ambient sounds, or if somebody approaches me in a café; it's awkward if I don't respond.
