Hi, Unfortunately, there's not. That's one area where I must give Freedom Scientific credit, they've come up with a way for Windows users to accomplish that task. -Original Message- From: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com [mailto:macvisionaries@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of trahern culver Sent: Sunday, June 24, 2012 9:38 AM To: MacVisionaries Subject: an accessable way of navigating dvd menues on the mac? hey all my question to you is this, is there an accessable way of navigating dvd menus on the mac? your help with this question would be most welcome! kind regards trahern. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups MacVisionaries group. Hi, What dvd player are you using? I haven't tried but, VLC might be a good alternative. Re: an accessable way of navigating dvd menues on the mac?
Daniel is quite correct. There is no way of navigating menus on a DVD using a Mac. The version FS has is; as I understand it, not much good at all. the issue is this. Because of the way in which DVD menus are colded in to the disk, (often not text but pictures of text) and the layering infolved, it just ain't possible. Sincerely, The Constantly Barefooted Ray!!! Hi Trahern, Just to follow up on Tim's suggestion, you can get the Softcon DVD player from: http://www.softcon.com/mac/ Also, Travis Siegel, the author of that program, is an active participant on the mac-access list. That may be; but, remember, that isn't going to help you navigate the menu structure of a DVD. Sincerely, The Constantly Barefooted Ray!!! Now a very proud and happy Mac user!!! Re: an accessable way of navigating dvd menues on the mac?
No, it won't, you're right, but it's a cool little swuite of apps to have. I got that, the pdf reader, audio burn etc. They all look kind a neet. Granted there isn't a single thing wrong with the native dvd player in O S X, and I highly recommend trying it, as the accessibility of the app is simply amazing.
