downloads button missing and how to get it back

Hi, maybe your download is too short for you to catch the button. If your downloading a file that finishes in a few seconds, by the time you get to the download button it will be gone. I just go to Downloads on my dock and get to them from there, and I find it the easiest way to find and open them too. well, the downloads button is in a different place on my machine it's not wright by the google search field like it was before.
