Re: DVD ripping software
I didn't notice a reply to this. You do know that ripping a commercial DVD, while trivial to do, breaks the DMCA laws if you are in the US and DMCA trumps fair use as well. Check the archives on this mailing list for more details. CB On 1/11/13 11:20 PM, Chad Rohr wrote: I have ripped a bunch of my DVDs that I bought a while ago. RE: dvd ripping software
Most people like hand break, it's free and you have to Google it to find the down load link. Others like DVD remaster, I personally think it is over priced at $49.99 Another that they say is good with voice over is Mac DVD ripper pro, unlike the first 2 I mentioned, this one removes the incripsion for you, and is only $19.99 again, to find this one Google is your friend. Hi May, I'd say Handbrake would probably be the best choice to go with. It's available from handbrake.fr On 2013-01-04, at 10:28 AM, May and Noah mcdonald@gmail.com wrote: Hi. Re: DVD Ripping software on the Mac?
Personally, I'm fond of RipIt. It does a great job. You can choose to rip the disc into an image file or mp4 files. Because I prefer the Xvid avi format to the mp4 format, I then use iSkysoft iMedia Converter to turn a ripped disc into avi files. The only part of iMedia Converter that isn't accessible is the format selection area. I have written to them and explained in detail what isn't working, but they seem to have no interest in fixing it. Still, if you get a sightling to help you set the format, it is a wonderful program. Re: DVD Ripping software on the Mac?
With Handbreak, what I found to be good, is if you save the settings you prefer to a preset, then you can apply that to each title, then, press command shift e I think it is, to add it to the queue. When you've done this for all the titles, you then rip with command + enter I think. Not sure if I've got the key strokes right or not, so have a play.
