RE: human to cat translator

2016-05-05 Thread Simon Fogarty
Well, kind of makes sense if you think about it!

But even so, elmo the red furry creature wasn't a sex offender, that was the
guy with his hand you know where!

The guy should be shot if that's true, Elmo rules.

2016-05-04 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Everyone,

While I enjoy a healthy political debate as much as anyone, I ask that we try
to keep the contributions to various threads, especially this one, on-point.

I'm thinking that it is time to close this particular thread.

Having said this, if any of you would like to share your Twitter handles/names
or facebook info, so that I and others may have access to your views, by all
means, in a separate thread, please, post them to the list as I do enjoy
reading your opinions. That's assuming, of course, that you share your views
on various topics via social media.

Thank you for respecting my request to both stay on point and to close this
particular thread.

Charges to follow if justice is served!

She mishandled classified documents.

To offtopic to go in to much detail here but basically what she did was set up
her own mail server and then use it to get around the public records act while
sending classified data one republic networks.

Messy stuff google and try to read something from both sides of the argument to

Trump, having inherited his fortune, is going to bring back the American
Dream? Laughable, for the 1% is not suffering.

Trump may get away with brow beating people at business meetings. He knows
nothing about running the country and if he should move into the White House we
will think the last 10 years was a vacation.

What we see on the news is an act? What you see is what you get. All the
Republican candidates from the get go made the mistake of allowing Trump to
push their buttons. It was a circus and he is the head clown.

Hopefully, Hillary will be brought up on charges soon and wet can get this
thing over.

I’m at a bit of a disadvantage in that I’ve actually met Mr Trump years ago,
way before this recent run when he contracted my father’s business to install
some large generator sets for a Marine application. It was a positive
experience. I’m also aware of an act of generosity on his part that’s not
publicly known so my personal opinion is the stuff you see on TV is an act.
Not that you want that for your president just that he’s not the “Richard” that
many may think or make him out to be or he makes him self out to be to be
fare.:)

Personally, I think Simon has the right idea being in New Zealand.

Re: human to cat translator

2016-05-03 Thread Scott

So here’s the thing with cats, the meow is a very small part of their ability
to communicate. It’s the most obvious but it’s one that my impression is they
use only for very course direct but not very detailed communication although
many cats have hundreds of different utterances.
The other thing that’s interesting is your garden variety house cat
will meow and do tail shapes and mimic behavior for attention but wild cats or
less domesticated breads have a much more complex communication and bond,
especially with their people / owner. Dogs minds are subordinate to ours. You
hear their owners frequently referred to as masters and dogs just love pleasing
their person, something I don’t need to state much on here with the many guide
dog users on the list. Cats though, again wild non domesticated cats have a
very deep connection if they choose to bond with a person. I’m not a big
believer in the super natural or psychic BS but the best way I can explain a
bonding with a higher level cat is almost a telepathic exchange. My Lynx who I
raised from a kitten was with me for 15 years and you would almost hear her
talk but it wasn’t audible and it wasn’t a meow it was a feeling, somewhere
between hearing a voice and having the impression you heard a voice. Not just
simple things like water or hungry but things like “I’d like to go outside
because there’s a bird I want” or “it will be ok” or things like that. Also
she could (if she wanted to) follow complex directions. I used to let her out
to patrol the perimeter when we lived out in the woods and would hear something
outside. the most difficult emotional experience in my adult life by far was
when she passed away and I felt that bond break. I have to this day not been
able to get another pet or animal because the loss was so hard for me to deal
with the last time. I kept hearing her meow for over a week after she passed
and again I’m an atheist but it makes one wonder a little.
Many people report similar experiences who interact with wild
animals. Bird handlers have similar experiences and long wrong out
relationships with their companion animals as some birds live longer than
humans. There are peoples who live in Siberia who hunt with eagles and bond
with them the same way from babies but they part ways when the eagle reaches 7
- 10 years old and full adult hood. The hunters say that the bird will tell
them when they wish to move on and be free and they let them go and train
another.
So why mention any of this? I think it will be a long long time
before there are interspecies translators that do anything useful.
Communication is so much more than vocalizations. Cats for example express
more with their tails than they do their larynx. Communication is very
complicated. Some animals have even far greater complexity in communication
than we do, some forms of whales are exponentially more complex in their
language than ours. So that’s a long way of saying, no, the universal
translator for pets is probably not available on iTunes. At least not yet.

I know this is off topic but

I've found that it doesn't always matter what you say, but it can end in a
slap to the face!

Or a peck on the cheak.

Re: my noise and human to cat translator

2016-05-02 Thread Scott
Many people report similar experiences who interact with wild animals.
Bird handlers have similar experiences and long wrong out relationships with
their companion animals as some birds live longer than humans. There are
peoples who live in Siberia who hunt with eagles and bond with them the same
way from babies but they part ways when the eagle reaches 7 - 10 years old and
full adult hood. The hunters say that the bird will tell them when they wish
to move on and be free and they let them go and train another.
So why mention any of this? I think it will be a long long time before
there are interspecies translators that do anything useful. Communication is
so much more than vocalizations. Cats for example express more with their
tails than they do their larynx. Communication is very complicated. Some
animals have even far greater complexity in communication than we do, some
forms of whales are exponentially more complex in their language than ours. So
that’s a long way of saying, no, the universal translator for pets is probably
not available on iTunes. At least not yet.

Hi Jesica:
My Noise was featured on Apple Vis a while ago. It is a sound generator for
things like white noise, rain or other sustained sounds.

Human to cat translator is a fun app that you can record something you want to
tell your cat and it translates into, well, cat speak.

My Noise was featured on Apple Vis a while ago. It is a sound generator for
things like white noise, rain or other sustained sounds.

Human to cat translator is a fun app that you can record something you want to
tell your cat and it translates into, well, cat speak.

Simon:

Sorry, I got the name of the app wrong. It is in the entertainment category. It
hasn’t made its way into the language translation category yet but it is only a
matter of time.
