Actually, if voiceover is on when you are setting up Face ID, the necessity to 
glance thing is turned off by default. You can turn it on, and some blind 
people can apparently use it. But it’s off by default. That is a little bit of 
a security risk, because if you’re somewhere, and someone snatches your phone, 
they can open it up by pointing at your face.

Hi,

I wrote about this lastnight and yes it does work for us 
It is a case of you need to turn off an attention needed feature  under 
settings  general and accessibility 
This feature turns off the need to have your eyes focus on the screen or camera 
to get face id to work correctly.


And it works great.

eye contact.  So, for the blind user, you would disable the requirement of the 
eye contact prior to Face ID setup and you'd be good to go.
