iWork for iOS - Inaccessible/Unuseable with VoiceOver
My Bug list for Inaccessible/Unuseable iOS iWork, VoiceOver Accessibility. iWork (Pages, Numbers, and KeyNote) 1.4, iOS (iPad 2 and iPhone 4) 4.3.3, VoiceOver Pages * Unfortunate, doesn't work well. Can't select objects and perform actions on them. * If I select object, swipe or touch anywhere, except info button. Selection will be cleared. * Inserting tables, charts, etc is possible, but non-descriptive buttons and no way to edit diagram data. * It's possible to show/hide ruler, but not accessible. Only italic/bold/underline and justification is spoken. * Many unlabeled controls under Info pop-up. * No way to check pixel/inch position of body of text. * No way to Perform action on object, even to check font/paragraph info line/word * Line navigation using Apple bluetooth keyboard is slow. Touch screen is fluid. * No HTML navigation. No Dropbox sharing. KeyNote * Adding slide, grid of various slide type appear, which one can *not* swipe to. Must touch/drag. * Adding content to one slide, then trying to add content to another slide, KeyNote will crash, report file is corrupt, and close. * If start slide show is activated, VoiceOver doesn't read any part of app, including slide content, slide controls, speaker notes, etc Numbers * cell selection is not possible * manipulation/formatting of non-selected cells is not possible *row navigation is *not possible. Conclusion: #iWork for iOS, even iPhone V1.4 is an improvement. However, lots of work yet for #VoiceOver#accessibility needs to be done, before it's even considered usable, but after a lot more work for true accessibility Unfortunately, #iPad#VoiceOver#accessibility of #iWork entire suite is very poor All same issues as that was detailed for iPhone version. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups MacVisionaries group. Re: iWork for iOS - Inaccessible/Unuseable with VoiceOver
Kevin I hope if you submit all of this you provide a little more detail such as steps if applicable etc. You have made some good observations, but some things may not be as obvious and I believe if APple gets good feedback it is possible the issues will be addressed. Good points and I think progress has been made, but far from being completed. Kevin: I'd suggest you copy this to Accessibility, where it might prove helpful in getting things fixed.
