Mail has been losing its sounds on a regular basis for years! If closing and
reopening it doesn’t work, just repair permissions.

I looked in system preferences for mail and see that ping is checked as it
should be. If i move around to the different sounds, they react as they
should.
However, when actual mail comes in, there’s no sound.
I don’t know if this is involved, but I checked sound effects on in vo.
It worked fine before the upgrade. Is there some other setting I need to
change?
