please tell me more about this setting. what's the alternative? I think I am in 
groups navigation. what should I change it to?

Are you in Groups navigation? I have sometimes found groups navigation will

I also noticed that. it started happening with the most recent Safari update. 
the tech at Apple accessibility suggested that I upgrade to Catalina but I'm 
not ready yet so I guess I just have to deal with it for awhile anyway.

reading from the top

for around the past 2 weeks or so I've been having trouble reading in Safari if 
I show the reader or if I start from a given heading, I'll press vo-a to start 
reading and vo reads the heading and then skips down. I don't know how it 
decides how far. it seems to have something to do with running into graphics. I 
used to have no trouble having all the text read no matter what was around it. 
I'm still running Mojave. has anybody else had this experience?
