Re: strange email behavior on my iPad

2020-09-23 Thread 'Kawal Gucukoglu' via MacVisionaries
This problem has come to my I phone 10 I couldn’t send an email using this
alias to one of my lists since I only use this alias on the lists. I can’t
find the alias on my I phone so how to turn this feature off and on now please?
Why has this thing have to change all the time, it drives me mad.

RE: strange email behavior on my iPad

2020-09-22 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Harry,

Your scenario is slightly different than those of us old-timers with .me
accounts.

Perform some Google searches, as I did, and you may find the solution.

Also, there is no harm in first enabling your alias, in questin, and then
disabling it, to see what happens.

Mark

 1.
 From settings, select your name.

 2.
 Select iCloud.

 3.
Near the bottom of the display, select Mail. A dialog window will open.

Disable your iCloud alias by toggling it to Off.

Select the Done button, near the upper right corner of the display, to

That's all there is to it.

RE: strange email behavior on my iPad

2020-09-21 Thread M. Taylor
Okay, Donna,

We are in business.

I discovered the solution to our little dilemma.

So, in short, what you and I want is to send emails that display our .me email
address, only, not our iCloud alias; or any other iCloud alias, for that matter.

To do this in OS 14, do the following:

1.
>From settings, select your name.

2.
Select iCloud.

3.
Near the bottom of the display, select Mail. A dialog window will open.

4.
Disable your iCloud alias by toggling it to Off.

5.
Select the Done button, near the upper right corner of the display, to save
your changes.

That's all there is to it.

Strangely enough, apparently, this is a feature that was introduced in OS 13
but the default for aliases was automatically set to off.

Your Brother on the Journey,

Mark

Yep. I have no trouble sending from my Mac, just my iPad. (I haven't tried
sending a new message from my phone, so can't speak to that.

RE: strange email behavior on my iPad

2020-09-21 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Donna,

I can confirm that this is an iOS / iPad OS 14 issue, only.

When I send from my .ME account via my 8 Plus using iOS 13.7, or my Windows PC,
all is as expected.

So, this has to do with some kind of setting in OS 14.

Mark

I wonder. Glad it isn’t just me. I thought I was going crazy yesterday, because
it showed my alias in the From field, but my messages kept coming back as
undeliverable. It’ll be interesting to see if this message goes, as I’m

Re: strange email behavior on my iPad

Mostly because I would have to unsubscribe and re-subscribe to the list. I
don’t really have any objection to using iCloud.com. But everyone has my me.com
address. So prefer to keep things simple and not have to change things up. :-)
Cheers,
Donna

strange email behavior on my iPad

2020-09-20 Thread 'Donna Goodin' via MacVisionaries
Hi all,

As of today, when I try to email the list, the message seems to be being sent
via my iCloud.com address, rather than my me.com address. This
despite the fact that my me.com addie is the one displayed in
the from Tab. I literally couldn't get my last message to send from my iPad, i
had to get on my Mac to send it. Does anyone know how I might fix this?
TIA,
Donna
