RE: TestGtkEmbed on N800
Andrew wrote: Maybe i'm going about this wrong. All i really want is to write an application that has the browser shipped with the device embedded in a widget inside it. I thought getting TestGtkEmbed would best the quickest starting point, but maybe not. Does anyone know of any examples that i can compile in scratchbox that does this? Officially we want to encourage people to use the eal apis instead. http://browser.garage.maemo.org/docs/eal/ I'm not sure there are any good or useful eal demos out there (and the one that people might mention should not be mentioned, as it has some major non technical issues). Using the EAL should enable your browser consumer to use whichever browser may be on the maemo tablet. ___ maemo-developers mailing list maemo-developers@maemo.org https://lists.maemo.org/mailman/listinfo/maemo-developers

I cant find anything.) gives information about the key names for maemo 2.0 (repo_deb) and 3.0 (rep_deb_3) but not for the latest image. Am I right in guessing that it should be rep_deb_4? The documentation is on hildon-app-mgr's pages in garage[1]. The new format allows you to have multiple repositories defined in one .install file. This has been quite a frequent wish in the past. [1]: http://hildon-app-mgr.garage.maemo.org/install-stable.html That's helped me generate a (hopefully) valid install file, but I'm still finding that instead of actually trying to install the app, clicking on the Click to install button is just serving up the file as text. Interestingly, on a desktop machine, I see similar behaviour, the old install file (from http://maemo.org/downloads/product/OS2007/apache/) causes my browser to ask me what to do with the file, whereas the new install file (from http://maemo.org/downloads/product/OS2008/apache/) just displays the file in the browser, something I'm only used to seeing when the webserver isn't serving up the right mimetype. Any ideas why I should be seeing this behaviour? It's odd that other OS2008 install files play properly - is there something else I need to do with mine? Or could it be that it's still not right and that's causing the problem? Here's what's in the file --- [install] catalogues = web-brewer.repository package = httpd [web-brewer.repository] name = Ports to Maemo by Tony Green uri = http://www.web-brewer.co.uk/maemo.repository components = os2008 - ...where os2008 is a subdirectory of http://www.web-brewer.co.uk/maemo.repository (I've had to guess at this, as the documentation doesn't seem to say what the components value corresponds to) -- Tony Green Ipswich, Suffolk, England http://www.beermad.org.uk http://no2id-ip.web-brewer.co.uk ___ maemo-developers mailing list maemo-developers@maemo.org https://lists.maemo.org/mailman/listinfo/maemo-developers
dbus apis with PHP
Hi All, I feel that most the developers here are aware of dbus and dbus-glib bindings, I have a query about how call dbus-glib APIs under PHP, and which is the best approach for that. On the same line, I have posted question to dbus mailing list, here are links to follow: It got divided into two messages on dbus message archive :) [1st part ] http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/dbus/2008-February/009259.html [2nd part] http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/dbus/2008-February/009260.html Please let me know your views. farewell
Hello list, Some of you already know that I have left Nokia. I thought I owe you a short mail about this. Thanks for all the help and co-operation since the birth of the platform. Without you guys maemo would be nowhere near where it is today. I hope it will keep this momentum, so we have a long and bright future ahead of us. I will keep close ties to maemo and I'm willing to help the guys who keep on running the infrastructure and web services. Beside that I will hopefully spend more time on other projects I am involved with. Keep on hacking!
