 The 260 error is indeed GW_OBEX_ERROR_CONNECT_FAILED .
The invalid_svc error. is No such profile on device

The invalid_svc error is to be expected, since obc (and gnomevfs) will
first try to connect to a Nokia specific profile (present in some
symbian phones) and then to the normal OBEX File Transfer profile. Your
results still indicate something going wrong with the OBEX protocol
(such as CONNECT command failing). The output of hcidump -X -V would
probably reveal more about what is going on.

Does this give you a clue?

[maemo-users] Bug in clock with the last firmware

2006-04-21 Thread Israel Herraiz
Hi,

I just installed the last firmware (released yesterday), and it seems
that there is a bug in the clock application.

When I set the time and the date, using the control panel or the first
boot wizard, the clock in the desktop shows two more hours than I set.
Furthermore, if I use the clock application (with the world map), in all
the locations the hour is the same.

Moreover, in the control panel, when you set the hour, the Daylight
saving zone checkbox is always disabled.

I have set the home city as Madrid, Spain. I think it is an issue with
the timezones.

Before reporting the bug, I would like someone to verify it with his/her
device.

Best regards,
Israel

Maybe someone tried to fix
https://maemo.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=225 and did not do it
completely. I don't know, as discussed on maemo-devel the bug reports
currently are a one way communication channel and I have no idea what
the state of this bug is. I think I tracked it down nicely, but no
response yet.

Of course, I would need to flash the device with USB master
mode(?) and I would need a powered USB hub. But does the
Nokia kernel have the relevant drivers? Thanks in advance!

Yes, it's possible. Yes, you need to do flasher
  --enable-usb-host-mode.
You don't need to do any kernel modifications.
At least D-Link DUB-E100 works just fine for me.

And it's not even expensive :-)
Do you run it without any special adaptor or USB hub?
I use modified USB hub for that.

[maemo-users] [SOLVED] Maemopad+: Illegal Instruction

2006-04-21 Thread Andrew Barr
Hi, just wanted to let you know that I flashed my 770 with the recently
updated product image and the first thing I installed was Maemopad+. It
works fine now, no Illegal Instruction error. I don't know if the
update fixed it or if it was just the fact that it was a clean, fresh
image, but I do have it working now.

I did notice that the quit message buttons say maemopadyes and
maemopadno. I didn't know if this was intentional or not but it
doesn't look it so I thought I'd mention it.

Regards,
Andrew Barr

great :)

the quit buttons are translated to Yes/No using the .po files (gnu
gettext) so if your locale isn't en_GB then it's normal. But I'll fix
it in the next release.

The timezone files in /usr/share/zoneinfo are missing, except for
Europe/Helsinki.

Adding this files from one of my other Linux boxes, and then
establishing the correct /etc/localtime allows the desktop clock to be
correct - however then the times as displayed in the main Time
application (wherein you select your city) are incorrect.

I would say that:
1) it is a bug that the desktop clock does not track the either the
home city or destination city.

2) It is a bug that the time zone files are missing.

I would *also* say it is annoying that, should you not live in one of
the hardwired cities, that there is no easy way to define the city in
which you live.

Unfortunately not. However, it looks like there is missing information
in the dump: only contains events that are received, but doesn't show
anything about what we're sending (lines starting with indicate data
received while lines starting with indicate data sent). No idea why
that is though, if you're sure that it is the precise output of hcidump.
