[maemo-users] Icebreaker Difficulties

2006-12-30 Thread Peter Bart
Hello,
I am having difficulties playing Icebreaker, or should I say my son
does. Since it is his game of choice I'm attempting to fix it. What
happened so far is when starting this game; and several others; is on
the game start screen the menu option labels and button labels were
gobbledygook. I uninstalled all except the OS included games. I then
upgraded archtunjo to v0.0.8-4, lessertunjo0 to v 0.1.2-3maemo1, and
maemo-games-startup to v0.1.7 using the application managers red pill
mode. Then two reboots, reinstalled the games from Maemo's application
catalog. Then two more reboots and that cleared up the label problems,
for the record these games are Maemo Blocks, Marbles, Battle Gweled,
Crazy Parking, Ice Breaker, Maemodrac, Maemosweeper, TuxPuck, Chess,
Mahjong. Games also installed that did not have any problems are
Blitzkrieg, La Pulga, Reverzi, Vecteroids, Nako, Pipepanic, which do not
use the formers start screen. I'm assuming the upgrade to
maemo-games-startup solved this? Which brings me to Icebreaker, it
appears to hang after starting up and playing the first, sometimes
second game. The only buttons usable when this happens is the power and
home buttons on the device itself. What am I missing here? I am using OS

Re: [maemo-users] ssh install failure

2006-12-30 Thread Iñigo
Did you try to install it via the app manager? I also had some problems to do
that via apt but it was ok in red pill mode.

Look at:
http://maemo.org/maemowiki/ApplicationCatalog2006

in section devoted to openssh.

Asunto: [maemo-users] ssh install failure
I have strange problem trying to
replace dropbear with openssh.
Os version is 2.2006.39-14, and
repository set to scirocco.
Using apt-get (install ssh) I get
error message that dpkg cannot
preconfigure. In directory in path
I see scp, what could be the part
of the problem.
So, in this moment, I overconfigured
my sistem and can't say what is
vanilla. Even gainroot fails; line
in conf file says "MODE=enabled#".
I turned off all modifications I
recalled I did on this matter.
Could someone point me to the cor-
rect direction? The problem must
be trivial, but I don't see it.
Best regards

Zoran

fdisk is used to repartition a block device, probably you don't need it. On
Linux, one uses the mkfs command to reformat a partition, choosing the vfat
type, in this case.

I don't know whether the mkfs command is available on the 770, I
reformatted the card's first (and only) partition on my main computer.

If you don't have Linux, you can reformat it on Windows and other systems
too, it's a standard FAT32 partition.

I dont use windows, I'll give a try to mkfs, hope this works. Thanks.

All we're asking is that you stop spreading misinformation about
the current state of dynamic languages to the press, analysts, and
your customers. This does not require you to champion or otherwise
support these technologies - just stop lying about them.

The Linux kernel remounts filesystems as read-only when there are errors
using them. I had this happen recently, when the partition on the card got
corrupted for some reason. Try reformatting it.
