Possible to use the N800 as WLAN Access Point?

2007-05-18 Thread Toby Proctor

Just a thought I had last night, but is it possible to reverse the
polarity of the WLAN on the N800 and turn it into a small, portable hotspot
which uses e.g. an HSDPA cellphone as the backhaul?

This came up before--basically you need to be able to choose master mode in
the wifi driver. I think the answer from those in the know was that master
mode isn't available in the driver we have.

Did you add the repositories that are listed inside python´s garage
 page into your n800 ?

You don't even need to do that if you click on the two links for
.install files there. It should work automagically. ;-) Just open a
browser window and go to:

http://pymaemo.garage.maemo.org/installation.html

and then click on the Install link (with an arrow). This will add a
repository to your application catalog. After that, click on the
Python link (also with an arrow). This one will add another repository
to your application catalog and install python 2.5.

Best regards,

since the v.3 release I have not been able to get python to install
with red pill
mode. Just tried the one-click method and installed the repository,
but find I get the same dependency error I always do:

application packages missing libbluetooth1 (=2.19)

email scroll problem with stylus on 770

2007-05-18 Thread dasDasein

I am running 770 with OS 2006 v 3.2006.49-2

When I try to use my stylus to scroll an email message, it will scroll for
half a dozen lines or so then stop and this little square appears. I can't
do anything with the square except make it go away by clicking outside of
it. If I try again it will scroll again for a few lines then the square
appears again. Does any else experience this problem? What is the little
square? There is an image of the screen at the following link.

This package is available at the Maemo SDK repository. Take a look at
the step 3 in the following tutorial:

http://pymaemo.garage.maemo.org/manual_installation.html

or download and install the base-repository.install available at:

http://pymaemo.garage.maemo.org/base-repository.install

Nobody needs to use the red pill mode to install Python.

Thanks,
Osvaldo
