[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 787372] [NEW] Issue with Aqua Theme in 1.4rc1
Public bug reported: In Internet Explorer 8 and 9, the Aqua theme has two dots near the top of the page. If you can manage to highlight these two small dots they actually behave as the find button does. These dots do not appear in FireFox or Chrome, making me think this is a styling issue. I think it would be good to copy feedback in a page into somebody else's portfolio for the reason that Craig has outlined above. However, Richard, you are right when you say it may not be good. So far, the ownership of the page is transferred to the other person and then of course all things get different. But what about the option to copy a page as read-only which will only be copied for safe-keeping, e.g. by a teacher who can then present it to moderators. That would also prevent a page to have another name as author like at the moment (When I copy My Portfolio, it reads My Portfolio by Kristina and would change into My Portfolio by Paula) which is a serious problem in the case of safe-keeping. I don't agree that the feedback should be anonymized because a moderator may want to see what a teacher has said in contrast to what students have said. The anonymization raises a whole lot of other questions. So in a way, when the student submits a page for feedback, the teacher can make a copy of that page after he gave feedback and freeze it not allowing any further editing. He gives back the original to the student who can continue editing it. I had the following : $string['locales'] ='fr.utf8,francais,en_US.utf8,en_GB.utf8,en,english- us,english-uk,english'; I first changed it to : $string['locales'] ='fr.utf8,french'; and then to : $string['locales'] ='fr_FR.UTF-8',french'; and then to : $string['locales'] ='fr.utf-8,french'; I doesn't solve the problem. Hi Dominique-Alain, So do the pieforms strings work in pieforms? If you go to Site Administration and try to edit a user's account settings at admin/users/edit.php, do you see the month names in the Expiry date selector in French or English? Those are the ones from pieforms.php, and are a bit of a hangover from when pieforms was a separate project to Mahara. For the month names in most other places on the site (like the dates under Latest Pages on the dashboard), you need to get the locales string exactly right. To get it to work in Ubuntu, all I had to do was this: 1. Install the French locale on the server with sudo apt-get install language-pack-fr 2. Put 'fr_FR.utf8' as the first item in the locales string in langconfig.php - others have said that windows users will need 'french' in there as well, but I haven't tried it myself. So you should try 'fr_FR.utf8' if you haven't tried it already. For me, 'fr_FR.utf8', 'fr_FR.UTF-8', and 'fr_FR.utf-8' all work, but 'fr.utf8', 'fr.utf-8', and 'french' don't do anything. Thanks Francois and Dirk. I do not have 1.4 downloaded and with the amount of bugs on the new version I am hesitate on upgrading to it until it is a stable release. Is there a possible patch that can be applied on 1.3.6? I am about to conduct training on 1.3.6 and would love to be able to know this export issue is resolved. We have alot of our staff setting up templates for students to copy so would be greatly affected by the issue if we upgrade. erroneous timezone offset error message

Bug description:
In the 1.4 RC, htdocs/lib/upgrade.php checks to see that
strftime('%z') returns a + followed by four digits. However, the
timezone offset can start with a - as well. So, for example, someone
running Mahara in the US will be told that their PHP is not returning
a useful timezone offset, but it in fact is. The timezone offset in
California, for example, during this time of year is -0700.

Heidi, I think if they copy from a user as opposed to from a group, you'll be fine. My hunch is that it has to to with the type of group these views come from. Its definitely still present in our 1.3.3 but I can't pin it down to one item that's causing it. I tried with about 5 different scenarios in the 1.4 and it has not happened yet. If you can manage to highlight these two small dots they actually behave as the find button does. These dots do not appear in FireFox or Chrome, making me think this is a styling issue.
