[Mahara-contributors] [Bug 792996] Re: If Gravatar is enabled, the no default profile picture means choose Gravatar
Hi Francois and Kristina, I am a new Mahara developer. I would take this quick fix if you don't mind as my first assignment. Any suggestions about rephrasing the button Use no default and a line? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Mahara Contributors, which is subscribed to Mahara. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/792996 Title: If Gravatar is enabled, the no default profile picture means choose Gravatar Status in Mahara ePortfolio: Triaged Bug description: You can choose not to have a profile picture in Mahara. However, when remote avatars are allowed and a user has one of those, it is displayed by default and cannot be changed to the anonymous picture. In my opinion, this is a bug. The Gravatar should be listed amongst the profile pictures as well and it should be possible to choose any of the 6 or none. At the moment it is not transparent that the Gravatar can actually be displayed as there is no mention of it on the Profile Pictures page. Only the site admin knows if gravatars are allowed or not. It would get even more complicated if Libravatar becomes possible: Which remote avatar takes precedence? [Mahara-contributors] [Bug 952625] [NEW] Pending registrations have an unreasonable expiry time
Public bug reported: The current setting is hard coded as a week after the user comfirms their email address. This setting should be configurable by site. Reasons behind this is that admins may go extended periods without logging into mahara (ie, due to a break in school terms etc). Because of this, they may not be able to confirm or deny the pending registration in the current weeks allocation. In addition, the current email sent doesn't have any mention of the time limit. To fix this, I would suggest that we make a configurable option for the expiry time (and also maybe do the same for the user registration links sent out, which are currently 24 hours hard coded), and also change the wording of the email sent to admins noting the expiry time. [Mahara-contributors] [Bug 792996] Re: If Gravatar is enabled, the no default profile picture means choose Gravatar
What this page needs, I think, is a bit more than just a quick fix. The usability of it is quite poor. I suggest this: - remove the use no default button - add a new image in the list of available images that has a title of Standard or external avatar and which would display the gravatar / nobody image - that new standard or external avatar would not be deletable - update the help file to mention external avatars and match the new UI ** Tags removed: bite-sized -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Mahara Contributors, which is subscribed to Mahara. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/792996 Title: If Gravatar is enabled, the no default profile picture means choose Gravatar Status in Mahara ePortfolio: Triaged Bug description: You can choose not to have a profile picture in Mahara.
