[Mailman-Users] Missing Unsubscription Requests
I am hosting a list (running on 2.1.7) that is missing unsubscription requests on the 'admindb' page. The list is configured to have moderated unsubscription requests, so people don't have to confirm their unsubscriptions, which seems to cause a lot of problems. I know the unsubscription request was made because: a) they show up in the 'vette' log b) Some people are sending angry emails to the return address of the list. But those people are still on the list, the list admin (who I know personally) has told me they haven't discarded them, and the unsubscription requests don't show up on the 'admindb' page. I don't mean that all unsubscription requests don't show up, some do. I've looked over the error logs, which do have some errors, but nothing related to unsubscription requests. [Mailman-Users] Is there a no-password no-corfirmation unsubscribe option anywhere?
Is there a no-password, no confirmation unsubscribe option anywhere in Mailman? I have a client that wants this despite my protests. Apparently since we put Mailman in place he is getting a lot of complaints (and rude comments) about their unsubscription process. -- Edward Muller - Interlix [EMAIL PROTECTED] 417-862-0573 PGP Key: http://interlix.com/Members/edwardam/pgpkeys -- Mailman-Users mailing list Mailman-Users@python.org http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/mailman-users Mailman FAQ: http://www.python.org/cgi-bin/faqw-mm.py Searchable Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/mailman-users%40python.org/ Unsubscribe: http://mail.python.org/mailman/options/mailman-users/archive%40jab.org Security Policy: http://www.python.org/cgi-bin/faqw-mm.py?req=showamp;file=faq01.027.htp

Are the other logs in that directory (like post and smtp) being written? Yes, looking at the correct log file. The qrunner log file is, there isn't any real traffic yet. The client wants to customize the interface a bit first... I think. Are you sure you patched the correct edithtml.py? Did the edithtml.pyc in the same directory get updated after the attempt to retrieve the page? Yes, patched the correct edithtml.py. In fact I applied the entire patch. Today I erased edithtml.pyc and it's not being re-created when I vist: http://www.mission2007.org/mailman/edithtml/traffic But it was re-created when I visited: http://www.mission2007.org/mailman/edithtml So I don't think edithtml/traffic is even getting to load the edithtml module. Since http://www.mission2007.org/mailman/edithtml works and produces the expected output (List name is required.), it seems that http://www.mission2007.org/mailman/edithtml/traffic must be executing the edithtml.py script, and I can't see how the script would terminate without either producing output or throwing an exception which would be logged as an error or produce something in the web server log. -- Edward Muller - Interlix [EMAIL PROTECTED] 417-862-0573 PGP Key: http://interlix.com/Members/edwardam/pgpkeys pgpDFuz07dKKG.pgp Description: PGP signature -- Mailman-Users mailing list Mailman-Users@python.org http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/mailman-users Mailman FAQ: http://www.python.org/cgi-bin/faqw-mm.py Searchable Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/mailman-users%40python.org/ Unsubscribe: http://mail.python.org/mailman/options/mailman-users/archive%40jab.org Security Policy: http://www.python.org/cgi-bin/faqw-mm.py?req=showamp;file=faq01.027.htp

[Mailman-Users] mailman stopped working after /var got trashed
One of our severs' got their /var partition trashed (hd died). I re-contructed it by hand (dns, logs, spool files, etc), but now mailman doesn't seem to be working. Sendmail works (I sent this mail through that server) and sendmail does receive the mail (I can see it calling wrapper in the sendmail logs). I think all of the mail is qued up (there are a bunch of files in the qfiles directory), but not re-delivered. I am (well, was) using mailman 2.0.3 on RedHat Liux 6.2. Anyone have any suggestions?
