Not sure if this will work with your version of Mailman, but see
.

You may also want to install an anti-spam processing system on
your server -- you could either incorporate this directly into your
MTA, or you could try the alternative at

[Mailman-Users] Please Help Me - Spam Prevention

2004-06-25 Thread John Posloski
Hello,
I am running a small mailing list with about 450 members usinf Mailman
version 2.0.6. The list is configured to only allow a select group of
people post to the list without approval.
I have been getting spammed by a couple of servers. It is getting
onerous deleting the spam which get through.
I have put in filters ( Hold posts with header value matching a
specified regexp.) " from: [EMAIL PROTECTED]" and "from: [EMAIL PROTECTED]"
Now I am getting messages from hb528.intrehost.com (unknown
[66.17.227.138]) will a filterfrom .*@ *.intrehost.com" stop these
messages from gettin to my approval area?

NB : This spammer also changes IP source addresses EG:
Received: from hb528.intrehost.com (unknown [66.17.227.138])

Received: from hb531.intrehost.com (unknown [66.17.227.121])

Received: from hb529.intrehost.com (unknown [66.17.227.139])

Etc.
How do I stop this pest?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Regards,
Joh Posloski

2004-03-02 Thread Charles Gregory
Hallo!

I'm trying to setup and run the standard mailman included with
Red Hat Linux 9. This is an 'RPM' install, so I don't have the
source code files to read the 'README's. Supposedly, Mailman has an
easy to use web based interface/control panel? I would appreciate
it if someone could help provide a link to a simple 'howto' for setting up
the initial web interface on RH9/Postfix. Presumably once I've got *that*
running, the site-admin pages should be fairly straight-forward.

Please reply directly, I am not on any mailing list for mailman (yet).

Thanks.

You can change the footer settings via the web frontend using:

http:///admin//nondigest
(fill in the obvious items between <>)

Offcourse, you have to be list or site-administrator to do this.

Then create the 'master' mailing list called 'mailman' as instructed in the
