Terrific. Thanks. Indeed, I was tripped up since tab autocompleted for
individual addresses. But all's good.

Thanks.

You have to hit Return or , not Tab. I've been tripped up by
this myself; it's not intuitive at first, but it does work fine once
you realize!

Hi Everyone,
It seems like MM can see Apple Contacts' groups when I start typing them

addresses are not actually auto-completed. Does anyone have a trick for
making this work?

Re: [MlMt] rule for deleting messages

2017-08-21 Thread Robert Brenstein

I have a smart mailbox “Trash old” with

mailboxes: Trash (my name for the combined Deleted Messages)
conditions: Date-Received is-not-within-last 6 months (you would have 30
days)

displayed count: all

It does not delete mails automatically but shows those that could be
deleted. I can verify that they all should indeed go, select all, then
delete.

Best I can tell is I need to set a rule? I tried setting one for the

IMAP accounts (5 gmail, 1 iCloud). I tried setting a rule for a
particular mailbox in Deleted Messages. Nope.

Rule is if Date not within 30 days permanently delete.

Best!

I've done something like this for abandoned Drafts over 30 days old.
I have a smart mailbox inside Drafts called DraftAbbatoir, that
contains anything in the aggregated Drafts mailbox which is over 30
days old. That smart mailbox has a rule which does a sanity check
(i.e. that \Flagged and \Forwarded aren't set but \Draft is) and
permanently deletes anything which passes.

This works because rules are only automatically run against a
message when it first appears in a mailbox. In my rig, messages
appear in the mailbox when they are 30 days old. If you have a rule
set on Deleted Messages, any message you delete in the usual way
(provisionally) has the rule tested against it at that time but
never again unless you select the message specifically and use the
Apply Rules menu command.

[MlMt] indent

2017-08-21 Thread Aaron Falk

I have a question:

When I enter or ⌘-] at the beginning of a line I expect the
paragraph to indent and wrap like in a bulleted list but without the
bullet. What happens is the paragraph becomes an unwrapped line
displayed in fixed-width font. I’d expect this for a ‘code’
format but not for an ‘indented paragraph’ format.

Hmm, I don't know exactly when MacOS synchronizes contacts. I'm pretty
sure that this does work if using iCloud Contacts, but I might be wrong.

Is this a limitation of using the system address book, or is it
possible to trigger a refresh from within MailMate?

I haven't added anything to MailMate which explicitly triggers
synchronization (and I don't know if it is possible at all).

Or can I add the CardDAV source to MailMate directly using some hidden
option? Or perhaps even specify a shell command to use for address
completion (since I already set this up for my experiments with
command line mail agents)?

That last one is not currently possible, but I've considered adding it.
The GUI (Composer preferences pane) already has a list of
auto-completion sources and I considered adding some kind of
script-based alternative. It's not a high priority though :)

No, this is only possibly by creating a new layout file. That's a pretty
low level feature which means don't expect it to work forever (or at
all) :)

Save the attached file in the following folder (which you need to

~/Library/Application\ Support/MailMate/Resources/Layouts/Mailboxes/

Obviously no hurry. Just next time you’re working in that area of

Very quick hack: `MmAttachmentsButtonOnLeft`. The long term plan is
still to get the attachments out of the WebView itself (too many issues
related to that) and into some kind of tableview which is likely going
to be much more flexible, but it's a non-trivial change.
