I have a smart mailbox set up to show all unread emails.  I think is says   
Flag   is not Seen
(Or ‘does not contain’)

[MlMt] Driving me nuts..

Okay that’s an overstatement.

In one of my email accounts I have a “2” indicating that there are 
two unread emails. I can’t find them. Ideas?

It's complex! But I did just manage to deliberately trigger it.

I opened a composer window from the inbox of a Gmail account, and 
entered as the recipient someone I had most recently written to from a 
non-Gmail account. As soon as I hit tab to move to the next header 
field, MailMate correctly changed both the sending identity and the BCC 
address from the Gmail one to the non-Gmail one.


I hit tab a couple of times to move the cursor into the message body. 
Then I changed the sending identity back to the Gmail account. The BCC 
address did not change. This has been fully reproducible across the 
dozens of times I've tested it, including changing the sending identity 
to two different Gmail accounts. (It may be the *only* case that has 
been fully reproducible so far; and there are so many variables that I 
still wouldn't put my life on its being 100% perfectly consistent...)


Tabbing only as far as the subject line before changing the sending 
identity sometimes, but not always, meant that the BCC address did not 
change to match the new sending identity.


If I clicked to put the cursor into the message body (rather than 
tabbing) and then changed the sending identity, the BCC address usually 
correctly changed, but sometimes didn't.


Starting again in the inbox of a Gmail account, I composed a message to 
a recipient to whom I've most recently written from that same account. 
When I tabbed into the message body and then changed the sending 
identity to either a different Gmail account or to the non-Gmail 
account, the BCC address did correctly change. I haven't tested this 
variation as many times, though.


Starting in the inbox of the non-Gmail account, I opened a composer

message body and changed the sending identity again, the BCC address 
again changed to match. Moreover, I just tried to reproduce this, and 
this time when I tabbed only as far as the subject line and then changed 
the sending identity, the BCC address did *not* change to match it.


You can see how complex this is! Also I have no idea whether the fact 
that I keep coming back to this composer window to add updates, between 
all the opening of other composer windows and changing of sending 
identities, is affecting anything.


So, uh, I hope this helps narrow the problem down?

MailMate had something like this a long time ago, but it's no longer 
supported/working.


Noted. Maybe it could be an unsell feature to have

Some of my mailboxes are Cleary not in full sync but no idea how to 
control that.



Some IMAP servers (like Gmail) has a feature which limits how many 
emails are provided via IMAP. Could this possibly explain it?


Will check server side but this is happening both with Google apps, 
Exchange and Zimbra IMAP. Still will investigate.
