[MlMt] Export / Import settings
Hi, I really love mailmate, I even managed to get it to connect to our exchange using DavMail... but as I use mailmate also on my private mac, I wonder if there is a way to have settings (not only keybindings, also smart folders etc) synchronized over to the other mac? Or ex- and import those settings somehow? Thanks! Re: [MlMt] UK email provider recommendations
I like fastmail too. I use them from the US and the performance is fine. Presumably it'd be OK from the UK too. > On Nov 26, 2019, at 12:22 PM, Sam Hathaway wrote: > > It’s AU-based, but FastMail is decent and works well with MailMate. I would have thought that pretty much any provide that does IMAP should be fine. What is it you're looking for? Just a mail account? Or somewhere to host the e-mail for your domain? If the first then GMX is pretty robust, if the second then I've found domainfactory to be pretty good for something with minimal setup and maintenance, but the choice is pretty wide. OTOH there is also OwnCloud, for which there are several providers with free plans. Does that mean I should hold off upgrading to Catalina? (I run 2.0 beta) It'll be a good idea to wait for MailMate to be updated if you are not in a hurry. Shouldn't be long though unless I find more serious issues on Catalina (the test release today includes a fix/workaround for anyone having issues with S/MIME on Catalina). -- Benny ___ mailmate mailing list mailmate@lists.freron.com https://lists.freron.com/listinfo/mailmate
Re: [MlMt] UK email provider recommendations
It’s AU-based, but FastMail is decent and works well with MailMate. Hope this helps. -sam On 26 Nov 2019, at 12:14, Seamus Phillips wrote: Hi MM Community! Re: [MlMt] UK email provider recommendations
You can roll your own with Message-In-A-Box (MIAB). https://mailinabox.email/ We use it on a VPS Ubuntu 16.04 server. Yes we know it should be on Ubuntu 18.04 but nobody has OpenVZ containers for Ubuntu 18.04. Takes about 60 mins to do from start to finish, most of that time is setting the server up. The server becomes an appliance and it just works for us. It sorts out certificates and mail group aliasing. We also run simple web servers (no PHP) easily and quickly. We have the smallest VPS plan and it's fine. You do need to be familiar with the command line and to be happy to run your own server, but I spend no more than 10 mins a month managing it.
