Don't want to sound too pessimistic but you might have some issues.

Both Gmail and Exchange have very non standard IMAP implementations, 
with the latter being quite buggy. I seamless transition will be 
surprising...

Do you mean that you see the *same* message twice or that you have two 
copies of the same email?


(You can right click a message in the search results to see in what 
mailbox it's stored.)
