Re: [MlMt] Filter(?) Message is moved to trash
+1 for this -- I would love to see some kind of logging on rules. Indeed, it would be even better if we could run rules on a single message *and get logging of the rule matching process*. I don't think it makes sense in terms of sheer logging volume to log running lots of rules on a whole mailbox, but it would be huge to be able to log the matching process when running rules on a single message (or, for that matter, running a single rule against a single message, but that would require adding another UI gesture, which might be too big an ask). I hope so too. Just to clarify, I do believe the latest test release is stable in the sense that it is much less likely to crash or have issues with Big Sur or Monterey. A public release is mainly delayed by the fact that major rewrites of many parts of MailMate also means a lot of minor behavioral changes -- and some of these are of major importantance to various subsets of users. That's a very specific request. This behavior was added a very long time ago and if I remember correctly then it was introduced because some receiving email client(s) would fail to verify the signature without the use of quoted-printable (and/or the lack of a Content-Type header I think). I could add a hidden preference to disable this behavior, but I cannot make it default behavior without some kind of testing with other email clients (which is hard to do easily). -- Benny ___ mailmate mailing list mailmate@lists.freron.com https://lists.freron.com/listinfo/mailmate

Just for the record, after some emails off list, it is likely that the problem is that the connections to INBOX (and maybe [Gmail]/All Mail) break if there is no activity for just a single minute. This does not work well with IMAP IDLE (waiting for new emails) and will cause repeated re-synchronization of the mailbox which can be expensive for a large mailbox. -- Benny ___ mailmate mailing list mailmate@lists.freron.com https://lists.freron.com/listinfo/mailmate

Has anyone else seen this? I do not have any similar reports. Maybe we should debug it off list. If the threads are from the same “context” then this could happen, e.g., if anyone replies to an email on a mailing list, but then clears the subject-line to create a new thread. (MailMate will warn about this, but most emails clients won't.) There's currently no way to explicitly break a thread in MailMate, but it's been on the todo for a very long time (like a lot of other threading related issues). > Is there a way to force MM to re-calculate its notion of the threads?
