Ouch! I don't normally upgrade using the test build archive and thought
it was something to do with the re-install of macOS because I've never
seen this before.

Anyhow, thanks for everyones response and feedback.

It's what you get for upgrading to a test release manually. 5958 is
later than the latest official "Test Build" seen by the update
machinery.

[MlMt] Keyboard shortcut to upgrade to pre-release not working

2023-03-20 Thread Chris Jones

Good afternoon,

I'm not sure if this has to do with restoring my Mac from a backup, but
I'm not longer able to use the keyboard shortcut ⌥ + "Check Now" under
the Software Update section of preferences to check for test releases.
When I check now it says I'm running a pre-release and gives me the
option to downgrade. In the past Mailmate would let me know if there was
a new pre-release or if I was running the latest pre-release.

I also checked using ⌘ + "Check Now" but I get the same results. As a
workaround I'm just downloading from the updates archive URL but I would
like to figure out why this isn't working.

No, but the good news is that I've seen this issue myself. In my case,
it is not triggered by all emails, but I've got one for which it
appears to be reliably reproducible.

I've mostly switched to Ventura on my development machine now which
hopefully means that Ventura-only related issues will be more likely
to be fixed. (There's a couple of Ventura-related fixes in a test
release today, but this does not include a fix for this particular
issue.)

That's not a problem. MailMate can generate `message:` URLs and they are opened

Asana is becoming quite popular amongst teams so it would probably add value to
MailMate's bundle offering.

I don't currently have the time to create new bundles. I imagine it would be
easiest to use the Todoist bundle as a starting point for creating an Asana
bundle since it also requires the use of an API key (named a token in Todoist I
think), but it seems that for Asana this is not the only variable needed
(projects, assignee?, workspace?).

Well, it's probably faster for me to create a bundle than it is to explain how
it's done. You can contact me off list if you would like to help that happen.
Primarily, I need you to play with the `curl` commands needed to do what you
want with Asana.

[MlMt] HTML signature causing display issues with markdown

2016-06-16 Thread Chris Jones

Good morning,

With my work email account I have an HTML signature which unfortunately
I'm required to use. It's causing me much grief when composing new
messages or replying to messages in Markdown. Basically the Markdown
becomes unusable. Tables lose their formatting (the cell lines
disappear, etc) and when replying to a message, the quoted text no
longer has the nice blue highlighting and vertical line on the left side
(the text just ends up being indented).

I know I've read that HTML signatures are supposed to work in both
Markdown and plain text messages but I'm struggling to get it to work.

If need be I can supply the HMTL used for my signature if that will help
with debugging.

2016-03-08 Thread Chris Jones

Good afternoon,

I'm running into an issue when forwarding messages. My company email
signature which references a couple of logos hosted on our web server
are not displaying when I forward an email. It just displays grey
bordered boxes around the areas where the logos are supposed to be
displayed.

If I compose a new message or reply to an email I do not run into this
issue (the signature displays normally). I've only just starting using
HTML signature with logos in it so I've never noticed this before. I'm
currently running version Version 1.9.4 (5226).

Cheers,
-Chris

Re: [MlMt] Widescreen Layout - A la Postbox

2015-04-22 Thread Chris Jones

Hi Benny, is this something that could be tweaked with ease?

Hi Benny et al,

Just wondering if it would be feasible to tweak the widescreen
layout for more optimal use of space. For example I used to use
Postbox and the vertical view would display the message list with
information of each message in a stacked view (FROM and DATE would
be on one row and SUBJECT would be on the row below it -- condensing
the width required). This does require an extra bit of vertical
space to display a message in the list, however, in my opinion makes
for a much more pleasant look. I find I'm constantly resizing the
message list pane.

[MlMt] Widescreen Layout - A la Postbox

Hi Benny et al,

Just wondering if it would be feasible to tweak the widescreen layout

Re: [MlMt] Asana Integration Bundle

2015-04-11 Thread Chris Jones

Thanks Benny,

I will have a peak at required curl commands and get back to you once I
have something working.

I'm not sure if I'm reaching for the stars here but would it be
possible to build a bundle to integrate MailMate with Asana?

A quick look on the API reveals that `curl` can be used to create a
task:

curl -u api_key: https://app.asana.com/api/1.0/tasks \
-d assignee=1235 \
-d followers[0]=5678 \
-d name=Hello, world%21 \
-d notes=How are you today%3F \
-d projects=14641 \
-d workspace=14916

Since Asana is a webapp would it be possible to open the email in
MailMate from Asana?

That's not a problem. MailMate can generate `message:` URLs and they
are opened by MailMate if MailMate is the default email client (it
also works for Apple Mail).

Asana is becoming quite popular amongst teams so it would probably
add value to MailMate's bundle offering.

I don't currently have the time to create new bundles. I imagine it
would be easiest to use the Todoist bundle as a starting point for
creating an Asana bundle since it also requires the use of an API key
(named a token in Todoist I think), but it seems that for Asana this
is not the only variable needed (projects, assignee?, workspace?).

Well, it's probably faster for me to create a bundle than it is to
explain how it's done. You can contact me off list if you would like
to help that happen. Primarily, I need you to play with the `curl`
commands needed to do what you want with Asana.
