Add a condition: [Source > Server > User] [Does Not Contain] [Username of Source] If that isn't specific enough, add another: [Source > Server > Domain] [Does Not Contain] [Domain of Source] As Robert says, "All Messages" is special, in that it is implicitly referenced by the unified standard mailboxes such as "Junk," "Draft," "Deleted Messages," and "Inbox." So if you exclude messages from "All Messages," you exclude them from those smart mailboxes as well. The alternative to changing "All Messages" is to create a derivative mailbox using messages from "All Messages" and excluding sources in the "Mailboxes" section. In the specific case shown in the attached screen grab, I have a static source of ancient mail named "Emailchemy Import" (after the tool used to convert 20+ years of Eudora mailboxes) which I usually do not want to include in searches. -- Bill Cole b...@scconsult.com or billc...@apache.org (AKA @grumpybozo and many *@billmail.scconsult.com addresses) Not For Hire (currently) ___ mailmate mailing list mailmate@lists.freron.com https://lists.freron.com/listinfo/mailmate
Re: [MlMt] Don't include "source" in general search results
Robert, The modifications I’ve made are behaving fine, Seen the attention to detail that Benny has, I wasn’t expecting otherwise ;-) and I’m great full for it. So my question how do I exclude a Source in an elegant way remains open. I used the following [Source doesn’t include “certain_text”] which works fine but is a little to general an imho error prone Regards, Marc On 21 Jul 2020, at 16:52, Robert Brenstein wrote: Since “all messages” is a special mailbox, I’d not try to change it in any way. Since “all messages” is a special mailbox, I’d not try to change it in any way. I’d created “almost all messages” smart mailbox which uses “all messages” as source and subtracts messages in your source-to-be-excluded. Then, you can use that mailbox as the source for other smart mailboxes.
