Re: [MlMt] Font options - Underline missing

Most style guides note that underline and italic are interchangeable;
underline is meant for use in writing or on a typewriter where italic is
not available. Many are insistent that they are never to both appear in
the same document. For what it's worth.

John,

Thanks for that info and explanation.

I thought something had changed (new versions, updates to Markdown,
etc.). I’m not desperate for Underline, just that it’s always been
missing, thought there were options, but no. I use that function only
occasionally.

FYI, if already rendered in a supporting app (Mail) the quality is
displayed and sent by MM.

Other non-mail Mac apps are not HTML based and do have those options.
That said, I can see why coding to HTML is needed for email.

FYI, I found a workaround for [Markdown,
here](https://stackoverflow.com/questions/44840416/how-to-make-a-word-underline-in-markdown).
Also noted, a different Markdown is likely incompatible with M-M
(Markdown-it.js) and does support it.

Underline isn't available in Markdown, the styling engine that MailMate uses by
default. If you really need to send underlined text (why?), you probably need
to use an HTML-based email program such as Mail.

[MlMt] Font options - Underline missing

2022-07-08 Thread Henry Seiden

Hello All,

Are there available options for font shortcuts that aren’t yet
implemented like a shortcut for underline. MacOS shortcut ⌘+U works
fine in Mail, but there is no working shortcut in MM r5902 using
standard fonts (Times New Roman, Comic Sans MS, Helvetica, etc.).

The underline adjustment (in M-M Menu>Format) that option is missing,
not shown, similarly, which explains that it isn’t working in a
shortcut. Guessing the menu options follow what is set up in the CLI.
Can it be reset?

Why?

Respectfully,
