Yep, that works, but it is *nearly* like creating a Smart Folder. - I
would love to use the fast syntax from the search bar for this…

Low-level, it's actually possible to create a custom script for how
the search field terms are converted to the internal query format of
MailMate, but I haven't yet made this particularly easy to do.

But note that the current syntax allows you to search any header, for
example,

received:benny

would find all emails in which the Received header contains my name.

Glad it's working.  I haven't really gotten the hang of the search bar;
it works great for really simple things, but for anything else never
works the way I expect. Searching on a phrase seems to do an "or" on
each element, etc. For any search that isn't super trivial I use the
Mailbox Search. I agree it would be nice for this to be faster.

Hi all,

Typing in the search field

t mailm...@halloleo.hailmail.net

doesn’t find them, because it only looks in the `TO` and `CC`
headers. I found a way how to list theses messages in a *Smart
Mailbox* (via the X-Delivered-To message header from the *other*
dropdown in the mailbox conditions), but I would like to find them in
*ad-hoc searches* via the search field as well.

An way to do this?

Instead of using the search bar, use the command Edit -> Find -> Mailbox
Search. This lets you specify any header field for the search. I
suggest searching on the "Received" header field for the address in
question.

Same problem: I have submarines depending on `to->address` then the mails only
visible in `other`

[MlMt] Search for messages send to one of my addresses, but where the final address is not in TO or CC

2019-05-08 Thread leo

Hi MailMatelers

For the work with mailing lists I have a (Smart) Folder with some
interesting first messages which began a thread (like *this* message).

How can I create another Smart Folder which contains all replies to
these first messages?

Many Thanks,
